Why can’t i talk about this cancer?
I have been following these posts, but this is the first time I’ve posted anything. I was diagnosed in Jan 2017 with MBC. My Mets are to the sternum, spine, pelvis and hip, with two spots on my liver and two on my skull. I’ve had what some consider a miraculous recovery when my pet scan last April

New here - found out today I have to have salpingo-oophorectomy :/
Hello <tentative wave> My name is Joh and I am 45 years old. When I was 19, I was rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis but it turned out to be an issue with large cysts on my ovaries and I had a number of ovarian cystectomies /operative laparoscapies over the following couple of years. In

Hi from a newbie
Hi. Just wanted to introduce myself. I have had endo for 20 years and managed to manage it over the years with prescription and over counter pain relief. Only ever had the one lap as don’t really like operations ( who does!) but maybe coming back to bit me now. I’ve had 2 cycles of failed IVF in between

Clinical Trials
With the weekly emails from the NKF regarding clinical studies, I thought I would share my story. When I had my kidney transplant on 10/15/99 I was #1 in a clinical double blind drug study. Double blind meant that no one knew which drug I was given. Back then, at U of WI they put transplant patients

Large lump in armpit 1 year after SNB
I am exactly one year out from my WLE on my central to upper back, and SNB from my left armpit. Today at Physical Therapy for pain in my left shoulder my therapist found a large lump in my armpit. I’m doing my best staying calm and collected tonight but I’m not going to lie, my head is spinning a bit

Metallic taste/itchiness on Zometa, Ibrance and Femara?
I started Ibrance this week and immediately I have detected a metallic taste in my mouth. Has anyone else had this issue and if so, what works to control or combat it? I've tried peppermint candies and they don't seem to work. Does anyone itch at night? I've tried Benadryl in the evenings when this

Round and round, hi!
Ever increasing/decreasing circles? Been suffering with coughs for around 3-4 years now. Around 1.5 years ago I was referred to ENT where I was diagnosed with nasal polyps, 1 septoplasty and polypectomy later and I get diagnosed with asthma!!! My symptoms start as a cough, leading to a crackle and wheeze

ovary removal and the onset of menstruation
Hi Sorry if i am on the wrong forum or this has been covered before, but can't find any feedback anywhere. My daughter had a huge ovarian cyst which was removed when she was 10. Consultants said her fertility and menstruation would not be effected by only having one ovary. She is now nearly 14 and has

Article from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Cornell Medical College about multi-modal treatment of advanced disease.
This pilot study may be of interest to most of us since it shows that even with distant metastasis patients can achieve a PSA of 0 (non evidence of disease) if a multi-modal treatment is used. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5468169/ ------------------------ A Pilot Study of a Multimodal
