How to spot rheumatic nodules?
I have two non painful bumps on the back of my hand and bigger lump on my foot and toe but wonder if they are nodules, and wether it's a problem to have them anyway. I also don't understand the blood tests for inflammation, because mine are always normal but I have bad swelling and a lot of pain. I have

Thanks to all of you who pointed out an error in my Active B12 test done at Blue Horizon. Now have confirmation it WAS an error.
Thanks to all of you in a recent thread regarding Vitamin B12 testing error. I have Graves, and since January, I have been experiencing symptoms similar to Pernicious Anemia, with a red, swollen tongue on 2 separate occasions, and a strange feeling of pins and needles in one of my thumbs, which is now

6 years ago I came down with a mystery illness. So far no doctors had been able to give me a diagnosis, could it be thyroid? More details..
I was just wondering whether if I posted a fairly detailed history of my case, symptoms and test results would you be able to offer any ideas about whether it might be thyroid or thyroid related? Or just any ideas at all really? (I was recommended to put this on here from someone within a Lupus group

Help For a Friend
Hi all, I am looking for a bit of info for a friend and wondered if any of you could help? A work colleague of mine is convinced he has RA but is finding getting a diagnosis very difficult. He has fatigue, pain in his joints, mainly hand and elbows and has to go home to bed at the end of his working

Can you change tnf drugs?
I've been on humira for ten months, the first 3-4 months I felt much better. I don't feel it's effective now. I'm also on 15mg methotrexate /6 salfazalazine/2 naproxen per day!! My meds have not been reduced as promised. I've asked my rheumatologist today whether I can change from humira to another

Ladies, I want to share this gift with you!
Now we all know nothing we can do can completely stop our pain but there are a few things that can help. I have been using castor oil packs for a few years now, my mum uses them for PCOS too, and they really help! I will link you all to a detailed page about it but basically you get a cloth and soak

I am male, aged 53. I've had varying symptoms over the past 2 years, starting with flu like, Renauds, fatigue, heart flutters, joint pain
Also side & back pain, kidney pain, headaches, sweats, eventually diagnosed AF from the heart flutter. But still getting back and chest pain (not severe), flushes, Renaud's, and dry mouth, dry eyes, tired. Oh and small lumps under skin, with sometimes discomfort underarms. Saw the MPTD question and

Do I have a Thyroid problem?
Morning Everyone. I'm always posting on here and I just wanted to post the below and get thoughts. Can anyone tell me if I have a Thyroid problem from my results. I have symptoms of both Hypo & Hyper and in the past few weeks I feel like I'm losing taste buds on certain things. My head is always foggy

Upset and Confused
Hi All Can anybody give me advise on the below results. I have posted on here a few times but wanted to ask you about some results I haven't got around to posting yet. Currently in process of Endocrinologist referral for persistent elevated Calcium levels and a rising intact PTH level September: TSH

Today's Doc's Appointment.
Woohoo! I think I might be getting somewhere! After a pretty bad week with a nasty flare up of joint pains, night sweats and heaven knows what else, my doctor has organised a load of tests. I think he was a little taken aback when he saw the new lumps on my hands and the swollen elbows. I dunno what

Blood results
Hi after a two year fight (initial blood test was 147!) I have been started on B12 injections. My ferritin was tested then for the 1st time and was low (not sure of the score) so I was given iron tablets to take one a day and was retested after almost 6 weeks (still taking them). I have an appointment

B12 results back - any advice on what the level 65 means please?
My B12 results are back and my level is 65 - but hte doc just said it was low - no reference as to how low. He also said I had intrinsic factor antibodies and needed a B12 injection which I need to book with a nurse. I know B12 is discussed here often so hoped someone would know what 65 means? Also

Gabapentin and Vitamin B12 deficiency - and other possible vitimin deficiencies due to taking gabapentin
I have just had my results back and am deficient in B12 so have been looking to see why this may be in preparation for the expectedly unhelpful conversation with the docs next week ( they fought me every step of the way in getting tests done and now they have had to write to me to confirm the specialist
