cataract op and reducing pred
I’ve been following Dorset Ladies tapering recommendation dropping 1mg approximately every month. 30 May - reduced from 12mg pred to 11mg. Returned on 6 June to 12 mg as I had a few problems with my right hip then reduced again to 11mg on 13 June. My plan is to reduce today to or tomorrow to 10mg

Open angle and the gym
Hi, recently diagnosed with open angle left eye, vision loss left eye 23/21 pressures. This has been a roller coaster so far with little info on diagnosis from consultant, thankfully I found this site 😊 I've stopped going to the gym since diagnosis, I was worried I was making it worse, can I ask what

Recovery time
Hello folks, it's been a while since I posted, or had anything to post about. I have to retire to my bed or any horizontal surface these days as my fractured vertebrae are soon put to the test and become uncomfortable if I'm sitting or standing for a while. Speed bumps are a menace and I always have

Euthyroid Sick Syndrome
Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has been diagnosed with Euthyroid Sick Syndrome or thinks they may have it? I am now beginning to think that my problems are due to this and not Hypothyroidism. Am thinking of getting a reverse T3 test but it's quite expensive. This cannot be treated with meds so

Opthomology
Is ophthalmology consultation standard with GCA or do you have to demand it ? Everything is blurred now which came on with steroids - saw my usual optician out of concern but only very slight decline in vision and eyes otherwise healthy. I was surprised when he said come back in two years. Been asking

Thoughts on blood results and next steps please
My main issues are my eyes - really dry and gritty and often woken by
eye
socket
pain
or stabbing
pain
- slowly being eased by use of heated
eye
mask and daily drops; widespread
pain
especially hands (which also swell) and wrists; facial flushing - possibly Malar but hidden a bit by rosacea; fatigue

12 hours urgent … update
She ignore my blurred
eye
neck
pain
saying go to optician. I’ve been extensively tested on NHS and don’t think I can expect more. I have repeat scripts for what I need and at least know the cause of the dizziness. Thank you all for your advice and help.

post CRR-D procedure
I had a CRT-D procedure test yesterday and all went well the cardiologist and nurses were amazing. I feel as though I can actually breathe normally now which is amazing. My question is how long does the wound take for the pain to ease off where you don’t have to take painkillers? Thank you, Joy

Journey Ditty
Twenty twenty was the year all went wrong that's crystal clear. Things had not been going well before that date, just to tell. Ailments I'd not had before taxed me like a plague of yore. Unknown this and unknown that caught me square and laid me flat. Muscles cramping so in pain no relief drove

Update- any hope for my reconsideration request?zero points for PIP and doesn’t tally with anything I said at interview.
Update: finally finished filling out reconsideration. It’s taken so long and has been making me really anxious. When I got the report from my assessment it seemed to hinge on a paragraph she had copied and pasted for each section stating I had no significant input for pain and mental health. I have provided

When the drugs don’t work
Where to begin… my poor Mum had her first hip replacement in 2007, but it broke and she had a revision in 2008. Unfortunately she was in more pain than ever, and they were about to write the pain off as psychological but thankfully she got referred to an Orthopaedic Specialist hospital who discovered

Tramadol versus Buprenorphine Patch.
Just a short post as I’m getting very depressed by constant pain from Severe Spinal Stenosis. I had a Laminectomy which failed (Triple Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair also) now diagnosed with Heart Failure so no “normal” painkillers. Pain Management have advised me to try Tramadol prior to possibly using

cellulite in legs related to thyroid?
I have been exercising the same as always and eating clean, but have recently suffered from a cellulite appearance in my legs (when pressing on the skin or walking you can see it only). I am wondering if it is in fact celulite or water refention, and whether it is related to my Hashimoto’s disease.
