Shingles vaccine
My wife was refused the shingles vaccine by her GP as she wasn't old enough (not over 70) we asked for it a year after she had shingles which she really suffered from and still has a bit of discomfort from. Has any MPN patients been refused because of their age?

Flairs following booster shots
I have been carefully and successfully tapering since the autumn. I am now on 5mg and this coming weekend I start going down to 4.5. I have just received an invitation for my 6th covid booster shot, but every booster shot so far (and my flu shots) have made me flair. I have never had covid myself

Is it long Covid
It's been a while since I last posted and probably seven years since I first did. I was diagnosed with GCA when I was 73 and I'm now 81. After the biopsy confirmed GCA I was put into the care of the kidney doctors at my local hospital as the GCA had affected my kidneys. Until this year I had six monthly

ICU cognitive damage permanent?
HiIn August 2021 I suddenly developed septic shock. I was rushed straight to ICU. The next day I was heavily sedated and put on a ventilator. I was in my coma for 3 weeks. In that time my family were called in twice as the doctor didn't expect me to make it. I suffered a type 2 heart attack (an MI

Beautiful night
Although it is late, around 10 , I just got done walking outside. It is very beautiful, snow is falling down hard and it looks like Christmas! It’s strange to think that it is almost April and it’s snowing like this, but I am still enjoying it. I am looking forward to some flowers soon though! Hope you

learning to run again
hi guys I was a runner pre covid infection. My health and fitness isn’t great due to the impact of covid (wasn’t hospitalised) but I miss my running but every time I tried I relapsed. Any tips to slowing the C25K down so the impact isn’t as harsh as there is no way I can start the way I did before

Got covid - when test turns negative?
I am 53 yrs male. I had successful transplant 10 months ago. Everything has been going well by God Grace. Thankful for new life, living every moment with gratitude. Unfortunately, I got covid 12 days ago. I had fever for initial 2 days and then all subsided. My transplant team stopped my Mycophenolate

Looking for hope
Our first ICSI round just failed and I’m feeling so dejected. This journey just seems to get harder. We have no frosties so back at square one. Can anyone share positive stories or coping strategies during the wait before the next round. I feel like I’m going loopy and can’t think about anything else

Covid Booster - For Info
Hi all. Just to let you know I had my 8th Covid Jab yesterday (6 Pfizer and 2 Moderna so far, yesterday was Pfizer), managed to book appointment using the app no problem but what I did notice was 2 things. A/ Much less choice of vaccination centre, I ended up driving 23 miles. B/ More stringent checks

What role should a Primary Care Provider have for MPN patients?
What role should a primary care provider provide for patients with MPN's? Obviously a PCP would address other health conditions that arise, but to what extent should a PCP be involved in tracking MPN patient symptoms or blood counts? My MPN specialist orders monthly lab work to track my counts, prescribes

Another baby.
Hi all, I have my son who is 3 by ICSI treatment but I’d love another baby, only thing is we haven’t got £10,000 to spend! What do I do?! Also trying so hard to work out if it’s the best for us, what if it doesn’t work? I literally dream of having another baby it’s tearing me up 😞 not sure what I

BFN:gutted
Hi all, got my first BFN this morning, devastated. Im 39 and managed to get 5 eggs from 3 follicles, 1 got through to a 5 day blastocyst which resulted in a fresh transfer through ICSI. Hoped so much it worked as I have a blocked fallopian tube and a low AMH/reduced ovarian reserve but it wasn’t to
