Waiting for appointment - sudden hearing loss
My adult son suddenly lost the hearing in one ear, rapidly followed by vertigo and now tinnitus, which he describes as ringing in his head and now also a dripping noise. Has been to Nurse and GP and finally a referral to ENT.......but the waiting list is months. Any advice would be really appreciated

What is your best tech for hearing loss?
Apart from your hearing aids what are your best/indispensable technologies for day to day living with hearing loss? Mine are my Oticon streamer which I use with my NHS hearing aids to connect with my mobile phone, iPad and TV (if you have private aids this may be built into your hearing aids). It turns

Betahistine
I have been prescribed Betahistine for dizziness associated with long covid. I am currently taking 600mg Gabapentin for my RLS which is managing it reasonably well. Has anyone any experience with taking Betahistamine of the effect on RLS?

Newly diagnosed with AN
Hi, I was diagnosed with a 2cm AN in July of this year in Dorset County Hospital with promise of a referral to Southampton General. After 6 weeks without the expected letter arriving I contacted Southampton to be told that they had no record of referral so I had to go back to DCH to chase them š. This

Tinnitus unbearable
Hi everyone, I'm having an awful time with Tinnitus. I've been taking, buspirone, just weaned off Pregabalin, blood pressure not staying stable,so gp changed my script from Losartan to Irbesartan plus lercanidipine which I was already on,I feel that the new meds are responsible, I obviously won't stop

A cure?
After watching the Beato tinnitus YT this came up in my suggestions. "How I cured my Tinnitus" https://youtu.be/y4zuVk5STuM?si=GbABrl7qIz7YEpNH He's an ENT doctor and comes over as very genuine and says his method might not work for everyone. It seems to me it was like a constant distraction

PMR flare or something else?
I posted a couple weeks ago about pain and stiffness in my hips, shoulders, and hands/wrists, starting when I reduced to 3 mg from 3.5 mgprednisone using DSNS (diagnosed in 2018 PMR/GCA) and also had a great deal of stess and activity. The rheumatologist thought it was carpal tunnel and trochanter hip

How do I tune this out?
Hi. Itās nearly a year since this thing started. I have bilateral tinnitus and hear 3 or 4 different sounds. Although Iām well past the seriously deranged early days, I canāt seem to get to the bit where you tune it out. Iāve done a mindfulness course and use meditation to relax when needed, been fitted

Feeling thoroughly miserable - full time musician, first time tinnitus
Hi folks, hoping to get some more positive ways to deal with this. I've built everything around playing music in my life. It's my entire income, and I feel I need all the money I can get from it. I don't really know any other way I can make the same money. I now have my teenage daughter living with

Old Musician With Tinnitus.
Hi all, here is my story. Having been a rock musician since I was a teenager, I'm now in my 60's. And my Tinnitus has got progressively worse over the last few years. During this 'heatwave' in the UK my Tinnitus suddenly got a louder. I have visited two audiologists in the past one with very surprising

PiP - Aids being 'prescribed'
This appears to be coming up a few times from reading previous posts regarding PiP claims. People who have bought their own aids to facilitate an easier existence are being told they cannot count as proof of either disability/change in disability, because they have not been 'prescribed' by the GP. Yet

Help first timer
itās been months now I have been suffering with fullness in my ear and the most annoying whooshing sound. Google tells me if it sounds like my heart beating to seek urgent medical advice. I have been to see ENT and they scoped my nasal cavity and I had a hearing test and pressure test done in audiology
