Hypoxia induced cancer stem cell enrichment promotes resistance to ADT.
New study below. One of the myths we regularly run into is that "cancer hates oxygen". People buy into dubious ways of delivering more oxygen to their tumors. A tumor will eventually outgrow its blood (& hence oxygen) supply. A lack of oxygen (hypoxia) will result in the generation of hypoxia-inducible

Blood test results for my Mom. Please may I ask for help reviewing them given her suspected heart attack some weeks back. Thankyou.
May I ask the expertly knowledgeable folk on this site to please assess my mothers recent blood tests results - post a suspected heart attack. We are in a very difficult situation. Our GP practice is deteriorating at a rate of knots! They are drastically short of doctors. The practice has quietly amalgamated

Been on holiday for a week with no running, but miles of walking (and lots of stairs/steps for strengthening my knees!). Discovered that there was an 'Up and Running' store near where we were staying (isn't one near where I live ☹), so called in. Spent a lovely 45 minutes getting my

Upset stomach daily and noisy bowels
Hi, new here. Was wondering if anyone had any advice, as I’m not sure if it’s Crohns that I definitely suffer from. Since February, I have had diarrhoea almost daily, almost constant bowel noises (growling, popping) and occasional abdominal pain. I have found that it’s worsened by the likes of chocolate

Phase 1 Study of Sodium Selenite in Combination with Palliative Radiation Therapy in Patients with Metastatic Cancer.
New study below [1]. The selenium literature suggests that one should not be in the lowest tertial, quartile, quintile ... or even decile, if in the U.S., where wheat consumption does the job for most. But there is no point in aiming higher than the lowest decile. ("Typical dietary intake of

Checkup w/low WBC & Bladder infection
My Oncologists's Assistant saw me today due to a family emergency with my doctor. The Assistant was very nice this time, thank goodness! She was concerned about my bloodwork. Turns out I have a raging bladder infection, my WBC is down to 1, my magnesium and sodium levels are very low and I'm dehydrated

Imposter Syndrome in the morning
My daily routine- sound familiar? First thing: I feel good. Bit uncomfortable, but nothing much. Why am I not working? I could do that DIY job at least! I’ll try driving this morning, then do the ironing. Big guilt trip because I’m letting everyone down and clearly THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH ME. Why

Heat and Blood Pressure
Many of us struggle with the heat tending to feel lethargic and washed out! One problem is that heat causes the blood vessels to expand and combined with your medication you may experience a degree of hypotension. Perspiration can make this worse if you start getting dehydrated. The key is to stay well
