Opicrapone
Hello. My (new) neurologist has suggested Opicrapone, which he says prevents spme protein from interferring with the usage of Dopamine, and therefore I should be able to decrease my Sinemet dosages. Has anyone else tried this, and if so, what was the outcome? Were you able to decrease the C/L, and

Is Jornay PM a better option for someone with a tendency to abuse adderall?
Adderall is great when I take my prescribed 30mg dose, but occasionally I double or triple my dose in attempts to combat depression symptoms. Sometimes I’ll take more later to put off the crash, and then I don’t sleep and function so poorly for the next couple of days that I might as well be unmedicated

Tricyclic antidepressants , amitriptyline in particular, delay the need for dopaminergic therapy in early Parkinson’s disease.
Individuals taking tricyclics antidepressants (amitriptyline in particular) had a lower probability of initiating dopaminergic therapy within the first year of their study. This observation suggested to the researchers that treatment with tricyclic antidepressants may delay the need to initiate dopamine

Suggestions on natural herbs or vitamins to boost your mood?
I'm feeling sad we lost a young friend to suicide, and my heart hurts. I've used ashwaganda before but I think it takes a bit to help, PD makes my emotions more sensitive, I'm sure the low dopamine is a factor. I have low blood pressure and I didn't know it can cause low blood pressure, I've never

Legs that kick íike a marionette
PHowdy Everyone, I have forgotten how to search within the CurePD community, so I must apologise for raising this issue again buy this might be bit of a head scratcher so here goes;I have always had issues with the idea that dopamine neurons die and that you can't come back from that. About 9 months

Adhd and Restless legs
Does anyone know if there is a correlation between the two? Anyone have both and take medication for either? Have been interested as my daughter has recently been diagnosed with adhd and have read how dopamine plays a part in both. I've yet to find anything substantial myself.

Negative levodopa
I first posted this on the Neurotalk forum in 2018. I make a few additions here. Recently I heard the story of a women who controlled her dyskinesia by eating protein. Levodopa induced dyskinesia normally occurs when levodopa levels are at their highest (typically between 30 minutes and 90 minutes

Graph showing levodopa levels during the day: on/off and dyskinesia
Some time ago I wrote an app that models how levodopa levels vary as a result of the medications that we take. This is based on pharmacokinetic values such as the half-life of a drug. To use it, for every dose that you take per day, you enter the time of the dose, the name of the drug and the size of

focussing on gut microbiome
I am just new to this approach. It makes sense to me that if the production of brain chemicals are made in the gut, this probably is the place to look for a solution. I have not read any posts using this approach so it looks like a fair bit of googling to find out which probiotic produces which neurotransmitter

Advice on tablets if liquid thyroxine is still unavailable.
Hi all Having seen my GP today to discuss the lack of liquid thyroxine, she tells me that they cannot just discontinue providing it on the NHS as there are several patients that can't take thyroxine in any other form. It seems it is all cost related and pharmacies don't want to order it and be out

Antidepressant recommendations
Well, my anxiety and depression just keep getting worse. Nearly unbearable now. What types of antidepressants have any of you had experience/success with during the transition off of the DAs? I have not been able to conclusively blame my symptoms on either the lack of dopamine or the soboxone. For those

L-tyrosine: any thoughts?? 💭
I’m awaiting meds (probably January)… in the meantime I’d read that L-Tyrosine can be helpful for dopamine release. I ordered some and took one but didn’t notice an effect that day. Just wondered if anyone takes them and what you thought of them?

Anxiety brought on by ropinirole withdrawal?
I'm just starting week #3 after total withdrawal of ropinirole after 9 years on that drug. My dosage increased over the years from 1mg to 3mg/day. Around July 2022, I went into augmentation and realized that I'd need to get permanently off of the DA. It has been a struggle as you all know. But I'm
