anxiety during dialysis
a multitude of health problems lead to her finally having to go on
dialysis
. She has been on it, and in and out of the hospital and rehab, for 4 months. Now she is home. she still is having trouble getting through the sessions.

Lab work
Since my BP at
dialysis
on Thursday was low I stopped the second BP med and it’s better. My cholesterol has come way down too so I’m happy about that. It’s such a tight rope with eating… need to gain 10-15 lbs and the food higher in calories could cause cholesterol to rise.

My mam starts
dialysis
3 times a week starting tomorrow she also has diabetes and we are so confused as to what she can eat after her
dialysis
the dietician we spoke to was completely useless and mentioned foods that are not suitable for diabetes even though we told her multiple times she was still going

Kidney transplant stage 4 20 percent kidney function but don't have symptoms.
I'm so worried and scare I don't want
dialysis
I had a bad experience of it as a young girl that I'm afraid of it. But I'm lucky that as right now I dont have any symptoms yet the only symptom I have is I get tire but that's because I have anemia but other than that nothing else.

AS the Journey continues
In the last 24 hours, an Albumin infusion should have been administered with
dialysis
support if the patient's blood pressure did not respond.

Feeling isolated & depressed
My 60-year-old husband is in renal failure, on nightly peritoneal
dialysis
, and on the transplant list. I've been feeling frustrated, anxious and isolated, and that often comes out in anger.

Questions
The time has come when I need to make a decision about whether to go with hemo or peritoneal
dialysis
. That brings up many questions. If on peritoneal
dialysis
do you ever get a decent nights sleep or are you constantly awakened with alarms pain etc.

GI issues post transplant
I was fortunate to never be on
dialysis
and had a living donor. Things are going just fine with good lab work and I feel great. I am back doing most of what I did prior to transplant.

I feel angry and devalued.
Today, in our
dialysis
unit, we have an unusual number of agency nurses. Most of them are are from India.During my session this morning, the nurse looking after me today ( also from India) decided to do a flow test check on me, by hooking me up to a machine that checks the flow rate.

Stage 5 Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Dialysis
and kidney transplant are the only two treatments for people with kidney failure. It is also important for patients to continue managing any other health conditions they may have, including high blood pressure and/or diabetes.

Settling in on HHD, the good, bad and ugly….
If you are transitioning to any
dialysis
, and struggling with the life changing process, find a good mentor. You are not alone in your feelings, nor are they insignificant.

Positive results after five months
I think of all of you who are facing and dealing with
dialysis
. My father did - and I dread being in that situation even though I also know that it IS doable. It’s not the end of the world! But today my results show creatinine at 81 umol/L and eGFR at 66. I hope I can keep it there!

Thanks everyone
Brought him back home again yesterday and now all we have to worry about is his kidney function and trying to stave off
dialysis
as long as possible. They are monitoring him closely. The NHS have been brilliant with him.

Back home from hospital
Got released Thursday after
dialysis
and back home by 530 pm. Took forever to get the discharge paperwork, get the IV out and the supplies to change my dressing. I have several follow up appointments and new meds. I med to gain 10-15 pounds and get my strength back.

Peritoneal Dialysis
Do we have to bandage out sites for the duration of having it? I did not like the belt so I use the lanyards for my catheter; they are more comfortable.
