What is going on?
Isn't the idea of a preemptive transplant is to avoid
dialysis
, or am I nuts? I'm 3 gfr points from frank failure and life, as you all probably know, is no bed of roses at this point. Any input appreciated.

COVID-19 and Cystinuria
In the UK the Government [link below] have suggested people with "chronic kidney disease" are at "increased risk" without defining what that means (and covers a whole range of patients from people having no day to day problems, to people on
dialysis
).

Experiences with PD
Hi everyone, I got my catheter fitted at the end of November and started
dialysis
1.5 weeks later. Got rushed into hospital with suspected sepsis and was very poorly so they had to start me on PD.

Healthy New Year’s Checklist for People with Kidney Disease
Activity level check Even if you are on
dialysis
, Dr. Meyer recommends you stay active. “A lot of people say that you shouldn’t work if you are on
dialysis
. I think that’s the wrong advice. The more you get out into the community the better,” says Dr. Meyer.

Got discharged on monday afternoon as my
dialysis
machine and solutions all arrived on Monday morning. Adapted quite well to doing it on my own at night and having the nurses coming in visiting me every day to check up gives me that extra peace if mind that I like.

Pros and cons of PD/dialysis in general?
6 - Finally, the social worker at the
dialysis
center said as we were leaving that 95 percent of
dialysis
patients start in the ER after becoming deeply, urgently, sometimes psychotically, ill. Is there any warning about when one is entering this phase?

Per my Nephrologist, there is nothing that can be done to reverse my condition, except go on
dialysis
or find a donor. Please connect if you are in similar situation.

Mammogram Call
She has
dialysis
, had a lobectomy for a lung tumor, and this would be just too much. On top of that my sister is dealing with a lot. I feel like I cannot handle things anymore. I hate seeing my mom sad and getting all of these anxieties everyday.

One year post transplant (recipient).
I was lucky to have avoided
dialysis
completely and was so impressed with my care at the University of Rochester (N.Y.) Medical Center.

CAPD and night sweats
I have been on peritoneal
dialysis
for nearly two months. While things are going well in general, I am suffering from occasional excessive sweats. I wake up with soaking bedsheets and pillow, soggy hair and general sticky, sweaty body. Can anyone throw light on this condition?

Barely making it to the toilet....
I am stage 5 waiting to start
dialysis
. I noticed today that I was peeing more and barely making it to the toilet. I have also had a lot of cramps in my toes. I am not dehydrated but my feet and toes are acting like it. Has anyone else experienced this in late stage?
