New to PD - questions
Hello everyone, I have recently been diagnosed with IgA nephropathy and needed to urgently start
dialysis
due to my GFR being less than 10. I am currently in my training for PD and had some questions: - when you started showering with your exit site exposed, did it sting a little?

I just feel a sense of urgency to be active on the list and to have surgery if I need it, before I would need to be on
dialysis
. I'm guessing some of you have felt a sense of urgency to get on the transplant list.

Part Time PD
Has anyone with good numbers (hemoglobin, potassium, phosphorus, etc) ever tried "part time" Peritoneal
Dialysis
? Meaning like 3 days a week, or 4 days a week, rather than 7? Let me know, I'd like to build a case to talk with my Neph about this idea.

He had 2 blood transfusions today and 3 hrs of
dialysis

2 or 3 x’s per week - any benefit to more/fewer
However, I also jumped from basically no awareness of kidney anything to stage 3–>stage4/5, 5–>
Dialysis
(boom.boom.boom. Just. Like. That). So, my kidneys seem to be progressing extremely fast if this is all correct.

ACUTE KIDNEY INJURY due to BK VIRUS
Anyone here suffered from AKI after transplant that has to undergo
dialysis
for the kidney to recover? Transplanted kidney is not severely damaged on biopsy but creatinine is high due to active BK VIRUS.

My Mayo Clinic journey and dialysis
I'm still going going to
dialysis
three days a week. The problem that is happening, is I'm cramping every time. When it happens it usually three hours into the treatment. I hope the doctor will reduce my time. This past ten months have been, one emotional rollercoaster.

My last medicine reacted with my cholesterol medicine and I ended up having acute kidney failure and had to go through several weeks of
dialysis
, my kidneys came back. I’m feeling better, but I’m just curious about this medicine.

It has me thinking will this be the last first snow that I will not be on
dialysis
. I am trying not to think that way. It's just hard. But you know I'm going to put a bright spin on it.

The Queen Who?
I'm trying not to worry too much about what
dialysis
will be like and how life will change . This adds another layer to it living with a spinal cord injury, going to school, working and needing a kidney. I know I'll be okay and life will change, but honestly life never stays the same anyway.

MRI QUESTION
My creatinine could support the contrast, but didn't know what the mesh for the
dialysis
grafts is constructed of. I would have to ask a vascular surgeon. Does anyone know?
