turned down transplant
He said he was not emotionally ready and chooses to remain on
dialysis
where he feels stability for the first time . I feel like an accomplice but I also know that I am supporting someone who has suffered tremendously over the last 17 years.

Starting Home Dialysis-Advice?
I had never been on
dialysis
before but now I have to go on. I have elected to do
dialysis
at home. I'm nervous about every part of it from doing it correctly to the amount of space I will need to store materials to whether or not I will actually feel better as a result. Any advice?

Update on beginning home dialysis
Hi everyone, I just wanted to update everyone on what eventually happened with the home
dialysis
. I thank you all for your advice. I began the peritoneal
dialysis
last week. The nurse was very thorough, patient, and answered all my questions.

Clinic Nurse Deliberately Shortening Treatment Time - What can I do?
My mom has been on
dialysis
for about two years now, but she just started at a new clinic (DaVita) in Virginia. My mom suffers from very low blood pressure during and after treatment, so we’ve found that a slower, more gentle, and longer (4 hour) treatment works best for her.

Working on Dialysis w/ Medicaid
Does anyone currently on
dialysis
work full or part time? I would like to know your experience. Also, if there is anyone working on
dialysis
who has Medicaid, I would like to know how you're able to work and keep your insurance. The insurance question is very important.

Stage 5 renal failure plus dialysis and cirrhosis of the liver
Wondering if anyone else in the world is dealing with these two together. My husband is, and we're scared. We're hopeful, but doctors don't know how this happened other than being diabetic for decades. Never a drop of alcohol, but a heavy meat eater. Diabetes is in control, A1C too, but hemodialysis

Down the rabbit hole I go.... the follow up to my journey
She goes on to say that your nephrologist wants you to start
dialysis
asap. I came back with, "What about the BMI condition if I start
dialysis
it has to be below 40? She replies with, "we want actually a lower BMI but the transplant team has agreed to your BMI even with
dialysis
."

some great news….
Of course there was renal damage and at birth the nephrologist basically said he could need
dialysis
and a transplant within a month or a few years, time will tell. we just returned from our fourth visit to Cincinnatti children’s hospital, which has a dedicated PUV clinic and specialty care.

Very worried
I am on EGFR 7 on PD
dialysis
. For the last couple of months i've been getting these sores on my face. They start very small and then get large very quick and itch. I'm just getting fobbed off from doctor to doctor and they state it's an allergy.

Can surplus/leftover dialysis supplies be donated to others?
Hello everyone, I recently ended Peritoneal
Dialysis
as I was blessed to receive a transplant just a few weeks ago. I have surplus supplies (solutions, hardware, sterile gauze pads, etc.) that I am hoping I can donate to someone who could use them for their
dialysis
treatments.

Dialysis also help with lung fluid removal??
My 86-year-old Father is the one on
dialysis
. He recently had pneumonia and evidently has fluid in 40-50% of his right lung. I have read that
dialysis
can help pull fluid from other body areas, such as the lungs, than is typically considered. Anyone had experience with this?

The Truth about Home Hemodialysis
She is Ex-Army with I believe over 20 years of
dialysis
experience. She is no nonsense and that's just fine with me. And the other is my Med Tech. We just love her to pieces. She also has multiple years of experience. I train with my husband in a private room.
