Typhoid and diabetic
Diabetes is a chronic condition that affects millions of people across the world. When the human body does not produce insulin, or it cannot use insulin properly, the condition is called diabetes. This results in a condition in which the cells do not use the glucose in the blood as well as they should

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Amino Acids - Selective Restriction.
There are 20+ amino acids needed for building protein. All it takes is for one to be in short supply to cause a reduction in the growth factor IGF-I. Omnivores might be able to reduce their intake of whole protein, I suppose, but vegans would find it easier to selectively restrict a single amino acid

Levothyroxine and blood sugar levels?
Usually when I have my bloods tested my glucose / sugar levels are between 4-6. However, I checked them today on a gadget my hubby has and the levels were 7.2 one hour after a meal. I thought that was a bit high so I checked it again 3 hours later I had some snacks before and the levels were 7.8. I know

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Arginine - Nitric Oxide
Nalakrats wrote a number of things that I disagree with. Here is one of them: "Cancer cells hate oxygen" Such statements are usually followed by a reference to Otto Warburg who won a Nobel in 1931. i.e. it must be true. (Poor Otto is usually misquoted, but his view that hypoxia is the cause of cancer

Biopsy results
Finally have my liver biopsy results. No fibrossis, No NASH just very mild fatty liver and mild inflammation. Dr believes that i do not have an enlarged liver and spleen as suggested by ultrasound. Ct showed normal size. He said the size ranges of a liver, used as a guidline, are based on an average

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: Choline
As many will know, radio-labeled glucose PET scans aren't very useful for PCa imaging, & there has been great interest in radio-labeled choline PET/CT. From a paper this month [1]: "To date, several positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) radiotracers including fluorine-18 fluorodeoxyglucose

Foods/Supplements-Vitamins: D - Calcitriol - human studies
Skip to the BOTTOM LINE if desired. Calcitriol (1,25-D) is hormonal vitamin D. It is produced by the kidneys as needed, in order to regulate calcium homeostasis in the blood. For that reason, it is not a good measure of vitamin D status. Not a lot of calcitriol is made at one time, & it has a half-life

Advice on PCOS diagnosis, please
Hi everyone, I have poly-cystic ovaries, I have bad acne (despite being 23 years-old), hair loss in my scalp, I sometimes get a bloated stomach and I have facial hair. I have also always had dark circles under my eyes, which I am not sure if it is connected to PCOS. I went to my gynaecologist at 15 years

Healthy just need to lose weight!
Well I had a good overall health check and bloods dome for just about everything - pleased to say everything is perfectly fine 😊. Cholesterol and glucose normal too which is great. Just that I'm 4 stone overweight!! Still I think I'm lucky that I'm in this situation and not having to take any tablets
