Anybody had an ICD removed for personal reasons?
Hi I am looking for supportive advice as I know this is possibly a controversial subject! I have had my icd for around 2.5 years now (I have inherited hypertrophic cardiomyopathy!) and really don’t get on with the ICD. I feel it is unnecessary as it has never administered any therapeutic shocks or picked

Good news day.
Following a conversation with cardiac rehab . They have informed me that my 24hr heart monitoring had ZERO abnormalities. So, so pleased with this news . Still not out the woods yet concerning pacemaker and defibrillator cause of EF (checked after only 4wks post HA. 1st cardiologist appointment tomorrow

New Arrhythmia while sleeping
Hello all, Over the last week, I've had a couple nights (last night included) where I would feel fluttering and almost a swoop of air up to my throat. It kept me up and lasted a couple hours. HR for the most part was steady, although there was an initial 10 minute period where it went up to 120 then

Random sternum chest pain and hoarseness after converting
Hello All, I was in an AFib event lasting 8 days early May. On the 3rd day I was given EKG and put on Eliquis and 50mg Metoprolol by my Primary. My HR was erratic and averaged 126 on EKG prior to medication. After medication it was averaging 115 at rest and lower at night sleeping (probably 80-110).

High heart rate after ablation procedure?? I am new to this community...
I had an ablation procedure on the 25th of June. Before the procedure my heart rate without medication was periodically from 90-130. Then I was prescribed Elequis, Metoprolol and propofenone. Those medications controlled the Afib 100%. Now after the Ablation procedure I had 1 week of normal but higher

Tiredness
I walk my dog between 3 and 5 miles a day and do core exercises at the gym twice a week so I think I should have a fair amount of energy. But I don’t! I wake up tired, I have episodes of feeling really tired throughout the day and am likely to fall asleep if I read in the afternoon or when I’m watching

Different episode
I was diagnosed with paroxysmal Afib about two years ago. I am taking propafenone and Eliquis. The propafenone has worked the best. I have been taking it since January. I have had three episodes in that time. It has lengthened the the time between episodes and the length of the episode. My "normal

Exercise and medications for PAF
I've been on propafenone (150mg three times/day) and diltiazem for about 2 months now, and my PAF is now well controlled on these meds. I'm on the waiting list for an ablation and have been told it will be 6 months or so before I am likely to get a slot for the procedure. The big issue for me now is

Ablation
My husband had an ablation 11 days ago, he is 74. He has had persistent Afib for years. Doesn’t feel it at all. The Ablation has left him feeling terrible. He is terribly sore, fatigued, can’t sleep. He is so disappointed and according to our home devices he is still out of rhythm. We know it takes

skip beats
I take 100mg of Flecainide twice daily which is controlling my A-Fib so far but every couple of weeks I get a couple of hours of skipped beats. Just wondering if anyone else has skipped beats. I had my ablation 6 weeks ago for Atrial Flutter not sure whether I will do a second ablation for Atrial Fibrillation

2nd Ablation
I had a catheter ablation for atrial flutter which was successful unfortunately I also have A-Fib. My doctor does not think a 2nd ablation would help and believes my A-Fib can be treated with Flecainide which so far has controlled my A-Fib. Just looking for thoughts from anyone who may be in the same

Bisoprolol fumarate with possible AF and raised blood pressure
I was perscribed 1.25mg Bisoprolol fumarate due to possible AF and raised blood pressure. My blood pressure at the surgery was 150/91 with heart rate of 80. I have been taking Bisoprolol fumarate for 7 days. I purchased my own blood pressure monitor, made by Omron. Unfortunately I didn't buy the monitor

Apologies for being awol but hubby has been spending more time on the laptop, which I prefer to use for my posts of witter length and I haven't been feeling too great. Discomfort from ICD fitted five months ago
Hi Has anyone here had to have the ICD refitted? DH says he is in constant pain from the implant site and it is stopping him from taking walksoutside the house since he gsts random shooting pains - not at every step, but bad enough to make him want to avoid it. Sitting, standing, lying down, moving
