2 year old been recommended a gluten free diet
My 2yr 6 month year old has been having problems for a year now. Bloating being the biggie, one minute he has a flat tummy and the next he looks pregnant. He tells me it hurts. He’s ready for potty training but I’m too scared to try because he’s having about 3 loose (not diarrhoea) stools a day. They

Coeliac absorption
I have had coeliac disease for many years and adhere to a strict (but probably not 100%) gluten free diet. My villi are still not in a ‘perfect’ operating condition, so their absorption is impaired. I’m very interested in whether anyone has any experience of probable impaired steroid absorption as

DBS for non tremor
Hi all. An acquaintance of mine who has the wonderful disease was told by their PD nurse that DBS wasn’t really an option as he had no tremor. I’m a little surprised at this remark and wondered what the community thinks about this. Thanks and best wishes 😊

Evidence for gluten/ dairy free diet for Hashimoto’s
Hi everyone, I mentioned a gluten free diet for my Hashimoto’s to my Endocrinologist who was sceptical. Does anyone have any scientific references I can quote? Also I have pernicious anaemia and have found Martyn Hooper s book on the subject really helpful as is very accessible info . So now I am looking

DBS truly reversible?
Hi all, In all the DBS vs FUS posts the argument is that DBS is reversible. The two people I know who had DBS pulled are in horrible shape - one had a stroke from it. I also know of a number of people where DBS made them worse or did nothing. So for my own knowledge - do you know people where it has

RLS with pain
I have suffered with RLS most of my adult life. It was in our family long before it had a medical diagnosis or a name. Our name got it was “ nervous legs”. My mother had it, I had it and now my two sisters have it. Occasionally my son and daughter also have it. It sounds genetic but actually it is not

DBS and meds
DBS and meds. I can’t get my meds correct after my first DBS programming. I used to take stalevo 200 every 2 1/2 hours. The doctor got me on rytary now two 245 mg capsules then following my old schedule. Now I’m overdosing. Who’s got DBS and how much meds they take.

Ok, I'm bad. I just turned 63 and my home general DR. insists on a colonoscopy. I have never.... I mean you know "exit only" had one.
My question is: Should I be concerned about my DBS considering they are giving me a "party girl" drip? I tolerated Cateract procedure 5 years ago w/o any concerns but the dr. says this will take a little longer and I am a few years further into noticeable progressions than I was at that time. For

When can you not get DBS?
When I went for my last neurology visit right before Christmas, it was suggested that I consider DBS... I was taken aback, because I can still get good results with c/l (although since my PD honeymoon ended it has gotten a lot harder), and I thought I would have a lot more time until I needed to consider

Another reason why hypos may have trouble absorbing nutrients
In the midst of trying to figure out my own situation, I found this article that talks about the small intestine in hypothyroid and hyperthyroid rats. Apparently (not unlike the mechanisms in celiac disease) a hypothyroid state results in shorter and thicker intestinal villi, which are supposed to be

DBS revision
I’m curious if anyone has experience or knowledge of the new generation of DBS units that have “steerable “ current. More specifically, I am interested in the St. Jude Infinity units ability to be used after the Medtronic units have seemed to lose therapeutic efficacy.

Anyone had pelvic problems
Hi i am convinced that my pelvic/flank pain which is intermittent is because of adhesions from abdominal surgery 10years ago for a diep flap breast reconstruction. I seem to get it at random times, need pain killers and a hot water bottle.I have been sent by GP to have physiotherapy but doing pilates

Pain in lower legs
Please does anyone know if this is normal ? I started c25k last week with my friend . We have just finished the second run of week 2 . I was really enjoying it as I am not a runner of sorts and really want to be able to run a reasonable distance and get fit in the process . All was going as it should

Bowel incontinence
My daughter is 9 years old & been diagnosed coeliac for 3 years now. She's always suffered on & off with constipation before & after diagnosis even following a strict gluten free diet. She started having severe tummy aches in October last year & after several visits to gp & hospital was finally diagnosed

IBS for about 16 years
I don't know whether this will help anyone who suffers with IBS as everyone is different, but I have suffered for many years. I take Lanzaprazole 1 a day. I use to get diarrhoea so many days then constipation for 2 days. I tried different meds which were not helping so I tried the root of 3 figs in

Fox's PDIQ + YOU Conference in Phoenix . . .
Where were the DBS Manufacturers and what about Duopa (Levodopa pump) at this conference.? Is there therapy after oral medications flame out ? I heard from one person Fox didn't invite them.. Anyone know more? Otherwise, every vendor in the universe seemed to be there. It;s unlikely these companies
