PMR flare? Reluctant to keep on highish doses of steroids.
In November I also broke my right pelvis
cycling
(on ice), which has fully recovered, but obviously my gait, as well as my
cycling
, were affected. My questions are: 1) I'm very reluctant to have to keep on 20mg steroids for a long time, but equally well know the drawbacks of methotrexate.

I have recently been made aware of weight gain (despite
cycling
most weekends) and wondered if this was normal? I have seen that reducing your carb intake can help. I do eat a fair amount of bread and rice, but what can I substitute these with? Any advice would be gratefully received!

Cant drive but would push bike be on?
He used to love
cycling
but doesn’t think he will be able to again. It’s only been 6 months since his stroke so I’m hoping he will become more confident in time . Thank you . He is unable to drive a car now .

To start blood thinners or not?
Normally my heart rate is elevated in AFIB to around 100bpm and my remedy is 10 minutes of brisk
cycling
or running that puts my heart back into NSR. More recently I’ve suffered a few unexplained bouts of AFIB at odd times.

What do you think?
The weather was 26-30C and I was in the sea everyday at 7.30am or running or
cycling
. A week later and I am back in dear old Blighty 14C, with the most painful left shoulder and arm. (I have pins in this from a
cycling
accident 10 yr ago).

Heart Rate Monitor
I do a lot of
cycling
of between 35 and 60 miles per day on 3 days per week. I need advice as to which Heart Rate Monitor I should purchase. I need a basic one, esy to use and one which I can glance down at and see my heart rate in real time. Any advice or experience would be much appreciated.

30 Minutes not Enough
Keep reasonably fit
cycling
20 miles x 3 times a week. Doctor questioned how I was taking pills and stated take early morning 30 mins before drink or food. This did not work effectively. I changed the regime. I set the alarm for 4am! (body clock now does this for me). Take tablets. Back to sleep.

Hi all, new to the community and recently took up running after a break of roughly 40 years😀 I'm used to
cycling
but was quite surprised how hard I've found running, now on week 4 run 2 of the C25K, going well so far, a few niggles and my asthma is playing up.

Knee pain
My exercise bike
cycling
is improving which is also helping my general health but with several other health conditions I’m not sure how hard to push without making things worse. Please don t advise speaking to my dr as I live in Shropshire and that is almost impossible!

Feeling Normal?
Full of energy and ready for a long days work,
cycling
the hills, working on the barns or making something . Not to have this constant pain, stiffness around the top of the pelvic girdle and the curved spine losing me 3" of height from contracting muscle.

So, after several years of
cycling
and not running, being a 'once upon a time' couch to 5k graduate, I have put myself back on the program.
