Results on new test
I have just had the new test offered by Monitor My Health which I think is good value for money. My thyroid tests were good. I am on 2.5 grain of NDT so my TSH is suppressed. TSH .01 (.27 - 4.2) T4 20.3 (12 - 22) T3 5.9 (2.1 - 6.8) I'm not sure whether I need to be higher in some of

How do I start on self injecting?
I have been on B12 injections for years, but since covid they don't last. I get mine every 8 weeks, but symptoms return after only one week now and get progressively worse, tremors, ataxia, severe pain in spine.... but GP refuses injections more frequently. How do I go about self injecting, where do

Vitamins
Can anyone remind me please why it is necessary to take a full Bcomplex if one often has low folate and also struggles to maintain B12 ? I went on holiday recently and forgot to take my BComplex but had my Folate/B12 drops with me so just took those as a stopgap. I actually felt better than when I

I'm starting again slightly differently 🤭 Could people please pm me with their trusted sources of genuine NDT please? Usual story - I've had several clueless GPs, cant get a referral for love nor money as my results don't warrant it, tsh only of course because symptoms are put down to stress and a

Increased cancer risk?
History of breast cancer here, so get my b12 level and others checked every 7 weeks. Now, I have read in some cancer fora supplementing with B-vitamins, in particular B12, can increase the risk of cancer, if ones level is always a bit high.I usually am around 5-700 nmol/L, when I get my Hydroxocobalamin

Anyone has this issue
I was given my B12 injection today and told I need to book a review with a GP as my B12 level is good and that I could now take oral B12 instead. My experience before on oral B12 is it didn’t work for me. Every bit of research I have read states Pernicious Anaemia doesn’t go away and you need B12 injections

petition?!
hello, I was just online trying to find anything about IM v’s SC B12 and came across a post response to the question of do the NHS fund B12 injections-the answer (from a Cornwall NHS) said that the NHS would no longer be funding these and would expect the patient to pay for themselves? No date on post

Bloods and GP help!
Hi my partner has been suffering from symptoms of hypothyroidism for several years now. The bulk of this time he was suffering depression, anxiety and over weight so each visit to the GP about his symptoms would always be loose weight and sort your mental health. Amazingly since the start of this yr

The good doctor
I had a GP appointment this morning (double appointment) for a Medication Review. I haven’t had one since pre-Covid when I lived in a different part of the country. I crept into the surgery with fear in my heart as I prepared to explain the ins and outs of NDT. OH came with me as I was in the middle

Have you found sub-lingual B12 tablets or sprays effective?
It seems to me that the NHS treatment I am getting is aimed at keeping me out of B12 deficiency, not about giving me the optimum level for health. So in the long term it could be a good idea to bump the levels up a bit more. I know a lot of people self-inject but I am looking into alternatives to that

Can't find proper thyroid medication
Hi all, I've tried almost all thyroid medications under the sun, NDT, T4 only (tirosint, synthroid, euthyrox), T4 + T3, T3 only, NDT + T4. And no matter what I still have lingering symptoms despite all my levels being optimal ( TSH, free T4 and free T3). My vitamins are all optimal as well (vtiamin

Vit B12 update
Following on from a previous post my B12 was 190 , so deficient and have had 6 loading dose injections which has definitely helped with fatigue . I am now taking B12 sublingual supplements . I have been taking PPI , Lansoprazole ,since I starting Prednisolone 18 months ago they are known to stop absorption

Has anyone had fluid retention in legs and feet when increasing dose?
My last dose increase of Armour, up to 2.5 grains a day, coincided with the start of the heatwave in earlier summer. My feet swelled up, they look like puffa fish on top. All I can comfortably wear is flip-flops! I put it down to the heatwave. Well that's way in the past now and my feet are still

Deficiency vs Broken
Hi Guys As usual I have been mulling over my recent GP experience of rolling eyes (aka “looking for their brain” courtesy of Narwhal!). I don’t think GPs get the difference between a body being deficient in B12 and a body whose B12 system is broken. Mixteca made the analogy of putting fuel in a

frustrating!!
so I posted my sons blood results being concerned over his very low active b12 and having to wait weeks for an appointment with Gp. Finally seen Gp who question the private bloods and ordered her own. She tested for pernicious anaemia apparently. Other blood results have returned and are Ferritin
