Ablation # 2
I had my first
cryoablation
in March 2016 following a course of treatment with meds. I Was considered an excellent candidate and my EP felt the procedure went very well.

Cryoablation
I have scheduled a
Cryoablation
for October 19. I was expecting to feel very nervous but I'm actually relieved I've made the decision. My concern is, my daughter is recently engaged with a wedding scheduled for July1. There are parties and showers to also plan.

Runners post cryoablation I desperately need your wisdom!!!!
I had my
cryoablation
4months ago and everything is fine I think......no signs of afib(at least I am not feeling it) I have been a runner for 35years. Trouble is now when I run I become so breathless and my pulse raises like I am doing a 5min mile!!!

Cryoablation
8 weeks ago and apart from one 12 hour period of rapid and sometimes, irregular heat beat, things are good. During that wobbly period, my Kardia recorded possible AF a couple times and unclassified at others.

Cryoablation Day 17
Feeling a lot better now and getting back to normal. No PAF apart from the odd ectopic. The worst problem was the sore throat, which has now eased. In the first 2 weeks I could tell if I over did it as I became tired and weak. Interestingly was not always due to a raised heart rate but when under self-imposed

Wednesday ablation postponed
EP phoned this afternoon to say my
cryoablation
needs to be postponed in favour of a further month of anticoagulation as I have some 'accumulation on my appendage' according to the TOE.

Cryoablation update......
Just over a week after my procedure, so thought it might be helpful to others if I bring you up to date with progress.......I have followed Bob's instructions to the letter and, of course, the instructions issued on discharge (not a lot different!). I was taken aback yesterday evening when I could feel

catheter ablation or balloon cryoablation?
In doing some research I came across balloon
cryoablation
which appears far better, more likely to succeed even though I accept every has risks. Just wondered if anyone had had one or what views they may have. I have Permanent atrial fibrillation so this may be something for me to consider.

One year on
I have been so busy getting on with life in NSR that I have not had time to let you all know how I am a year after
cryoablation
(July 7th last to be precise). I have had a wonderful, normal, year no AF at all.

Black 'n blue......but happy!
Well, the experience of having my
Cryoablation
is now complete and I feel good! Arrived at St George's at sparrows fart......very early for our more refined readers. A charming young man escorted us patients to the ward were I was prepared for the mornings activity.

RF or CRYO ablation? What are your doctors saying
Hello everyone. Big thanks to everyone for kind and helpful replies recently that brightened my day. Here over the pond it is not necessary to have any failed drug treatment before ablation. My EP in Florida can not say which ablation is "better". He does RF only - success rate 60% which is scary

3 Weeks Post Cryoablation
I had a
cryoablation
procedure with Dr Sahu at the Northern General in Sheffield. Luckily I was first up. Despite the nerves, and expecting the insertion of the catheters to be painful, I actually felt nothing, only a small scratch as they put the local anaesthetic in. Even that was extremely mild.

Cryoablation recovery
Hi, I had a
cryoablation
on Wed 4 may 16. I was discharged that evening, and coughed up a small amount of blood. I feel a little breathless, and have mild pain in the chest. I guess all this is normal, but is it normal to cough blood and be breathless?

Bruising?
I had a
cryoablation
back in January. Is it possible that portions of the heart and arteries leading to the heart are bruised. Sometimes I feel some discomfort around my heart and I was wondering if this could be the result of the procedure.
