Dont always assume its your thyroid
Hi, been hypothyroid for a couple of years now and have recently self medicated as despite being told frequently that i am adequately replaced i feel totally drained. However, like a dog with a bone i refused to give up and was given. A second referral, this time to a brillaint endo who really listened

CPap machine
I was diagnosed with COPD 5 years ago whilst still working and sleeping so badly I could hardly stay awake at my desk. I was given a CPap machine by the Brompton hospital and have never looked back really. Apparently my oxygen levels drop so low during the night that I keep waking up in a panic although

Some additions to the diagnosis. Anyone else?
I have been to get the results of my sleep study today and apparently I have sleep apnea and restless legs syndrome. Hmmm news to me! I had no idea, I slept through the whole thing! hahah. So I wondered how common these two are along with autoimmune arthritis diseases? Apparently they will review me

Having sleep apnea and unable to tolerate Cpap and insomnia that is getting worse over decade, is there any good sleep medicine that people with sinemet ER and domperdone use? Mirtazapine did not help and zolpidem is getting less effective every day

Try CPAP therapy
I posted a couple of months ago that I had Botox therapy and sadly this didn't do much for me. So I dug in deep and went for a sleep apnea test. I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea, issued a CPAP machine and chose the Wisp mask, which is not a full facial mask. Right out of the shute I noticed

i was quite shocked
i had a financial assessment today from the council as i have had funding to attend headway and community steps well i gave them all my details and he ignored my wifes income initially as it was my assessment anyway it turns out that i would have had to pay £55 a week towards my care which is a few

It's My 55th Birthday...Do You Believe it?
I don't! My body feels it but my spirit remains youthful. It's been THE year of years. Precisely at this time last year, I was beginning the process of my neuro-psyche test following a summer of neurological testing. It was early August I received my PSP diagnosis. Tho I knew something was quite wrong

CPAP THERAPY FOR OBSTRUCTIVE SLEEP APNEA AND MANUKA HONEY
Hello everyone, I was wondering if there were many of us here with Obstructive Sleep Apnea? I recieved a letter last week telling me I had it and I am to attend an appointment at the sleep clinic on Thursday concerning CPAP treatment. A leaflet was meant to be in the letter but I think they must have

Are there any treatments for RLS that work but don't cause daytime tiredness as a side-effect?
I seem to've developed daytime tiredness a lot recently. Although also suffering from sleep apnoea, that is treated by a CPAP machine. I suspect the cause could be a side effect of the pramipexole I am taking for RLS. I've tried ropinerole and the Patch but didn't get on well with them. Does anyone else

Restless Legs for 20 + Years
I have had Restless Leg Syndrome for 20+ years and was not taken seriously by medicos for many years. I have been tried on a myriad of medications, none of which are working. It has now gone into my arms. I have spoken to a sleep specialist and he stated that your sleep has a lot to do with this condition

sleep apnea and diabetes
Among people with diabetes, the prevalence of sleep apnea is very high (up to 58%1). Similarly, among patients with sleep apnea both impaired glucose tolerance and diabetes have a high prevalence (in one study 50% of male sleep apnea patients had abnormal glucose tolerance, and 30% of them had diabetes2

Last week my doctor told me I'm not really well enough to work, and should consider my options today my employer of 16 years offered to pay me a compromise package of three months wages as I am clearly struggling to continue and they will terminate my contract due to ill health. My wife has been ill
