My pred experience scares me.
I really need some help understanding what's going on in my body. In late April I had been at 25 mg for a while with mild PMR-like symptoms. Then, one day all my symptoms went away after I made a big positive life change. I then tapered down to 6 mg over a three month period without any problems.

DUTCH Practitioner
I am thinking of having a DUTCH test due to low cortisol and chronic insomnia. I contacted DUTCH but they’re unable to give me a UK practitioner’s details due to date protection?! Can anyone recommend a UK practitioner please? I assume this can be done with an online consultation, but if not I’d be

Low Estradiol and low Iron - is it Thyroid?
Hi all, I have been on 2.375 grains of Armour and 2.5 T3 since May and my results are: Ft4 33% Ft3 75% 24 hours after meds since Armour is slower release. I don't tolerate Armour in its own, tried everything from 3 to 2.25 grains. Iron 49 (50-180) Estradiol 12 (21-280) checked 4th day of cycle FSH

PMR flare or something else?
I posted a couple weeks ago about pain and stiffness in my hips, shoulders, and hands/wrists, starting when I reduced to 3 mg from 3.5 mgprednisone using DSNS (diagnosed in 2018 PMR/GCA) and also had a great deal of stess and activity. The rheumatologist thought it was carpal tunnel and trochanter hip

Anyone for macrocytosis?
I asked for a copy of a recent cardiology report where AF was diagnosed. The report mentions hypertension, PMR, OA, B12 deficiency (oral tablets) and mild macrocytosis. I assume the latter was identified at the last routine bloods, nearly a year ago, but is not a cause for concern. It’s a new one

Adrenal cortex and DHEA supplementing
My recent saliva test showed low DHEA (91 - range 106-300) and low cortisol levels (Diurnal cortisol pattern is consistent with evolving (Phase 2) HPA axis (adrenal gland) dysfunction.) I passed an SST, but my endo didn’t seem interested in helping me further (too focused on supressed TSH) so I’d like

The need for FT4, FT3 and TSH tests
I was on hydrocortisone and levothyroxine just before and after the surgery as my
cortisone
and thyroid levels were affected. So far, I have been able to come off the medication but I need the correct follow-up tests to check. Thank you

Could low iron be making me feel very unwell?
For the past 6 weeks I have had awful dizziness, tingling feet, feeling spaced and almost consents tinnitus. It’s got so bad I’m having to go to bed for chunks of the day and when I’m up I don’t feel very present. I’ve seen a neurologist, had an MRI and CT scan and a brain bleed was ruled out. The

never loose hope upping NDT!!
bit of back story, I have been on 1 grain of NDT for 3.5 years (with added t4). Every time I upped 1/4 grain I would get hyper symptoms and it would push my t3 over range. So I had no choice but to add levo in (tirosint). T4 seems to make me feel worse and worse the higher I go in doses with extreme

Hi everyone I had a cortisol test recently and it measured 28, according to my rheumatologist it should be between 133-540approx. She is sending me for a Synacthen test but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what, if anything, I should be doing to help. I am experiencing

Blood test results help please
Hello, I'm new to this forum so I apologise if this has all been asked before. I have been being investigated for hypothyroidism by my GP - several blood tests over the past year have shown my T4 level to be lower than 12, so my GP referred to endocrinologist. Endocrinologist ordered a fasting blood

My mother died
My stress level is rocket high and my body needs
cortisone
. Puls over 100, so fatigue I have not felt since beginning of PMR, brain is a mess so I just lay here waiting for the extra 5 mg to kick in so I can sleep. I find this lack of
cortisone
production to be so disabling !!!

Low cortisol .. next steps
Hello everyone I recently did the 4 point saliva cortisol test and the result was low cortisol at all 4 points, but particularly in the morning. It helped explain why I find it so hard to get out of bed and struggle with low energy all morning. My DHEA is also low. I then had a Short Synacthen test

Swollen, painful hands ?carpal tunnel syndrome
He gave me a
cortisone
injection at the base of my thumb for the localised pain, and has ordered another nerve conduction test. Meanwhile, he suggested upping my Prednisone for a while. I agree that it seems sensible but wondered how high and for how long? I was OK on 4.5mg in July.
