Request for levo increase
Hi there. My friend has been on levo for a number of years after having a tumour on her thyroid removed. She’s got a history of depression (although this has been a more recent thing) and is always very tired, recently having days in bed with no energy. She is only on 50mg levo a day, so I have been

Very confused and don't know what to do to help my body heal
Hi everyone, I'm new to this forum and up to 6 weeks ago the only digestive concerns I had was Coeliac Disease and a sliding hiatal hernia which was discovered at my endoscopy 4 years ago. The hernia hasn't given me any bother up to this point except for the occasional bout of acid reflux every couple

Charlatan or science?
hi folks, I am awaiting diagnosis of Grave’s disease and during the last 3 months since my blood tests via the NHS and the waiting game to see an endocrinologist, I have been researching hyperthyroidism. The internet is FULL of people claiming there is a link between micro biome and leaky gut and Graves

Direct measurement of T3 likely vital say researchers
This may have already been shared but I just came across an article about a new study that has stated that "It is important to note that the more typically measured biomarkers for thyroid function (T4 and TSH) are poorly linked to free T3 levels," Lawton and colleagues wrote. The ratio of TSH:T4 explained

TSH/T3/T4/Vit B & D results
My previous Endo (private) retired last October and the new one (private) that I was suggested to see immediately reduced my Lio from 100 to 75 & the T3 from 20 to 10. Originally I had wanted to see an NHS Endo 3 years ago but none were available, hence the private route. My readings are T4 18.8 -

Have you disclosed your self-medication to GP?
Hello Everybody, I've been successfully self-medicating with T4 and T3 or NDT, without GP's knowledge, since 2016. For the 30 years before that I could not get diagnosed for hypothyroidism because I am borderline central hypothyroid and my TSH never got high enough for the NHS diagnosis criteria.

Just had hysterectomy due to prolapsed bladder and think it's come back due to severe constipation.
Completely fed up. Does this mean I have to have surgery again? I have also ran out of ndt again for about the fifth time due to it being so expensive and my tsh was really high about 6.5 when I had blood test for my pre op. It was also high the previous time as I had ran out then as well. I hate

Selenium Supplementation in Patients with Hashimoto Thyroiditis
I found this paper and thought I'll share. This is for patients with hashis, who are not yet on thyroid hormone replacement. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/38243784/

HRT FET - Day of transfer?
Hi everyone and thanks for the lovely support in this group - it’s been a comfort reading all the previous posts. I’m doing my first HRT FET, and just wondering around what day of the cycle people’s transfers were? My plan says to take oestrogen from day 1, then have a scan on day 8, and that’s it

I can't get my thyroxine dose right, can anyone give me advice?
I've had an under active thyroid (hashimotos) for 13 years and I was taking 100mcg of levothyroxine for all of that time until recently when my TSH went up, these were the results: TSH: 7 (0.27- 4.2) T4: 16 (12-22) My GP asked me to increase to 125mcg which I did and then we re-tested 6 weeks later and

Longevity, demographic characteristics, and socio- economic status are linked to triiodothyronine levels in the general population

Adrenal/Cortisol issues- help please
So it's recently been bought to my attention that my struggles to tolerate any t4 t3 medication could be down to low cortisol or adrenal issues, is this common? I'm starting to question if adrenal issues are actually my main problem? I was diagnosed 'subclinical hypo' last year and have been on varying
