How long should I wait to have a thyroid panel blood test after having COVID?
I ordered the advanced thyroid panel blood test from Medichecks... and then I got COVID 😭 I’m on day 11, and I've finally tested negative. It’s been quite rough. My question is: does anyone know how long I should wait before my blood test? Will having had COVID again affect my results? I don’t want

COVID and AFIB...... BA5 finally got me...
Can AFIB patients (permanent for me)take the COVID drug Paxlovid? I worked so hard to avoid it but the BA5 variant got me. How have others with AFIB faired with COVID? Particularly the recent variants (that tend to be less severe). Symptoms, progression each day, length of time with symptoms? Pretty

Covid and GCA
I have GCA. My prednisolone has reduced to 3mg daily and methotrexate 15mg weekly. I am now having a relapse and am awaiting a PET scan. I now have covid. The NHS pharmacist phoned me and told me I wasnt eligible for the pill to stop it getting worse as you have to be on 10mg or more prednisolone

immune suppression during Covid is scary
Anyone else feeling like Covid is not over for them yet? I’m still working from home, avoiding public and crowded places, ordering groceries. Am I being overly cautious? Everyone has stopped wearing masks so for me, it’s gotten even more dangerous out there. Yes, I’ve had 4 shots but they don’t really

Partner not allowed into consultation
My wife received a letter today, confirming her consultation date when she will finally learn if any treatment is available to her and if so what is recommended. However, this letter also states "please would you attend alone." This is utterly astonishing. They say it's due to the pandemic.

Cancer patients test world’s first ‘computer-designed’ antibodies, made in Israel

There is also a longer list of symptoms now (for which those at higher risk can take a test on the NHS): “Symptoms of

Finding it really hard getting back into it
My last run was on 7th July. A busy week made me miss a couple of runs, then catching Covid (again) and the heat wave just made it impossible to even consider running. I dont do well in the heat at the best of time, anything over 25 and I find walking fast a killer. The dogs can only have a short

Going backwards!
I am not sure if anyone can help with this, maybe some words of encouragement or similar? I started my running journey about a year ago and with lots of hard work managed to get to 9 miles in 1 hour 28 mins. I was so happy, and felt that I was really improving. Then in April 21 covid hit. Since

GCA since Feb. 2018 ---mid-transfer from one roller coaster to another. Its tricky.
I believe my GCA is under control. I am down to 5 mg of prednisone, and on that aspect, feel good. It has taken a year to settle into 5mg, and I hope others will read this and realize that sometimes it just takes a long time to get the dose down. I appreciate all the support from you folks. I shared

4 months and no answers!
Heads up: this is a vent post about how much this SUCKS! OK, so the story is, I’ve been off work for the past 4 months with exertional breathlessness and no cause. They know my heart is involved, but every single cardiac test (stress test, CPCA, halter, PET/CT, cardiac MRI) has come back normal. CPET

Covid prior to ivf
I tested positive for covid last Friday, but negative both Saturday and today. I’m due to start stims either tomorrow or Tuesday. I was barely ill- I had a cough for a day and that was it. We think it’s likely my partner had it as well, he was even less symptomatic, just a scratchy throat for 24hrs at

PROTECTION FROM COVID WITH EVUSHELD??
I have not been on this site for a while, but wanted to share some interesting information with you. I have been in a random trial (arm 1; I/O) at Mayo’s for over 3 years (started April 2019). I am in the high risk category being IgVH unmutated, 11del, and having trisomy 12. My blood picture became
