Still pain
Hello, My husband had a stent and double bypass following a heart attack 8 months ago. He's doing incredibly well with rehab and getting fit again. He's still getting pain around his pecks and tightness across his chest when exercising. This goes when he relaxes, so short-lived . I was wondering if

Question for those who are stented
Hello I'm sure this has been asked several times but I've had a look and cant find an answer on here. In January 2023 I was stented due to a blocked LAD artery. My other arteries were healthy and fine and the blockage was believed to be caused from a clot due to Antiphospholipid syndrome. My question

Alternative to a Stent
Hi everybody, I just read this article by John Crace in the Guardian. He had a heart attack about a week ago and then had an Angiogram. He mentions that he expected to have a stent fitted to resolve a blocked artery, but instead the cardiologist used a drug to remove the blockage. I had not heard about

Post nstemi.. liver bloods?
So in December 2023 I had an nstemi (have a stent fitted).Today I went for a blood test to check my cholesterol levels, kidneys and liver function. I assume because of all the meds I'm on. This evening I get a text to say to book a "routine appointment" with my GP to discuss liver bloods. I rang and

1 year on from heart attack and stent fitted. Still struggling.
I walked to the hospital for an appointment today, for a pre-op for a knee replacement. The hospital is only half a mile. On the way back I was out of breath and experiencing pain in the top left hand side of my chest and light-headed, and I had to sit and catch my breath. At the pre-op they checked

Such sad emotions after coronary heart disease diagnosis.
Hello. I have recently been diagnosed with coranary heart disease with a 100 percent block in RCA. The cardiologist opened this up as far as possible but unable to place a stent because the artery was to narrow. The cardiologist doctor also told me they are not to concerned about this because there is

Female heart attack
Hi, I had a heart attack on 1st March. I am shocked and still in a bit of disbelief. I am a 53 year old woman and always thought I was pretty healthy. I'm not obese, I don't smoke, I probably could exercise more and eat more healthily. I am pretty active. I have had alot of stress lately. My LAD was

flying
how soon can you fly after having stent fitted , and is it not advisable to fly long haul . Also can anyone recommend a travel insurance company that doesn’t charge a fortune, but still covers for this ? Thanks

post heart attack and stent insertion
my partner had heart attack and stent inserted at the end of January. Nothing but trouble since in that it seems the medication has some effect in constant dizzy spells and light heads, so extreme that he cannot leave the house and isn't eating as much etc. He has been taken off ramipril altogether.

pre diabetes
Had an NStemi and stent fitted in Oct last year. Obviously a shock and have been following all advice, did cardiac rehab and going on daily walks and gym twice a week. I asked GP surgery for cholesterol blood test to see if it had gone down further and particularly if bad cholesterol had gone down. However

something cheerful
We are all here because of some type of event, me HA and stent fitted. This has so much information p#on this site and it is very supportive but the question most people ask is how long will I live, whilst no one knows . what we should be doing is celebrating every year since our first event. Wouldn't

Another Stent
I had a heart attack for my 60th birthday nearly 4 years ago and had 3 stents. I made a pretty quick recovery and soon was back into a fairly active life. Then three weeks ago I started to get chest pain coming on just randomly, even at rest - nothing as bad as the heart attack pain but still a worry. One

My dad . Heart attack
Can't believe it, my dad's been in hospital last 3 days. He's in his late 70's, went in on Tuesday with dizziness, sweating and breathlessness was taken by ambulance. Had an angiogram and 3 stents put in yesterday and they said he had a heart attack. My mum and dad didn't tell me as they didn't want

Stopping PPI?
Hello everyone, I'm approaching a year post Nstemi with one stent and thus the end of ticagrelor hourray! What I am wondering is if I am then down to aspirin as the only blood thinner (plus ezetimibe and atorvastatin long term but hopefully not much longer on bisoprolol and ramipril ) do I still need

cramps caused by statins?
my husband had a HA in 2018, stent fitted and has been well since albeit on a daily regime of tablets. During that time he has had to switch statins 3 times due to pain and cramps in shoulders. He is now suffering terribly from continuous cramping in his legs. Do you feel it is the statins causing this

Spain 2019 Update
so just an update. Had HA in Spain August 2019, had one stent the next day. Here I am still around , last 5 months angina rearing it’s head, can’t wait for cold weather to go. Sometimes have to stop. So any tips would be great. Thinking of getting another cardiologist as the previous one retired and
