Epigastric pain
Hi all I’m getting a dull pain in my epigastric region, that’s kind of the area just below your heart in the centre. I’ve had it for sometime how and mentioned it to the cardiologist but they don’t seem bothered as it isn’t directly my heart, even thought it started after my CABG. Im starting to wonder

PET Scan results -total ischemic burden 4%
I just got the results of my PET Scan and it was "total ischemic burden 4%". My cardiologist said "we start to worry when it is 10%. It must be a false positive. If that was a true result you would be feeling like there was an elephant on your chest." He didn't go into any further explanations. So I

wound care
hi. It’s been 4 weeks now since my bypass surgery. All is going fine. When is it ok to use soap and water on my chest wound or have a bath? Up to now I have been rinsing in shower and patting dry. It is healing fine.

A tooth with a life of it's own!
Hi, all. I wrote in several months ago about a painful tooth. My dentist couldn't find anything wrong with it. He finally referred me to an endodontist, and he did a root canal. Found several issues. Would have been nice if that had been the end of it, but no! The pain would not go away, and I

Triple Bypass 2 years on.
I sometimes reply to the questions and experiences of others but I don't instigate threads, so this is an exception. Two years ago today, age 64, I was in surgery for triple CABG following a heart attack and one stent in 2019, and a return of some symptoms such as pressure in upper chest and awful jaw

waiting for a diagnosis
hi, I have just joined this forum and hope someone can reassure me. I have been having chest pains but put it down to indigestion until last week when it was worse. I didn’t want to call an ambulance as gp suggested but they saw me in surgery straight away. I have been on statins for years as most of

nose rec onstruction
I recently had a successful procedure to remove an SCC from the right side of my nose. This meant that I also had about 50% of the right side also removed. I am waiting for 9 sessions of radiotherapy and when that is over and my skin has settled I then have to make a decision on future treatment: 1

Compression stockings
My husband has been wearing his compression stocks for 7 weeks now after having had a triple heart bypass. They are driving him mad now and he wants to stop wearing them. How long should they be worn for? Appreciate any advice, please.

exercise after bypass surgery
had bypass a year ago and finally getting back to the gym - been taking it easy (possibly too easy) this last year as concerned that something may go “wrong” - but got to get back on with life - so does anyone can say that my heart/arteries are good as a normal heart and can push myself as much as I

Hi all, I got some private tests done (attached) and I have to say I’m surprised as they seem to point to me being hyperthyroid but have all the symptoms of hypo. Can someone explain to me please? Other tests done recently were: B12 - 240 - I have pernicious anaemia and am getting B12 injections off

Waiting for bypass
Unable to stents lad put balloon stents in, on dual platelet therapy while waiting to get on bypass surgery list. Wait is making me very anxious. Managed to keep up moderate excersise. But don't understand why they want to see how I go on, surely it will only get worse.

Have I Really Got Heart Insufficiency?
I detest the the Heart Failure as it does not truly describe the condition and needs changing but I doubt the professionals can be bothered. Blood results
Hi all, Following on from the very useful help and advice I received on my previous posts, I have some blood results back and am hoping for some advice this time. My B12 came back in the normal range but low and my ferritin came back only just scraping into the normal range (results attached).
