A
colostomy
that misbehaves on occasions! when "normal" people have diarrhoea it does not overload their
colostomy
cap and dribble all over the floor without them being aware there is a problem! finding the drips and dealing with them is an added problem! Sorry!

Is a colostomy a good solution?
It has made me housebound over time due to uncontrollable diarrhea, and now i have just recently became a dad and i feel its about time i gave up on the trial and error of untold amounts of tests and treatments and go for a
colostomy
to give me the freedom to be an active father and allow me to go back

Only option is hysterectomy ( total pelvic clear out).... Help!!!
The only option is hysterectomy but even then I could end up with a
colostomy
. I haven't had children yet n desperately want a family but am stuck between having the op and losing all chances of having children or living in pain all the time.

Time to tell my story
Then I had a bowel perforation needing a
colostomy
, obstructed kidney needing a stint and was started on Asa but due to my liver failure and continuing kidney failure they needed to stop. Started on cyclophosphamide but lost my white cells and needed the rescue drug.

My Journey, as promised!
Unfortunately it resulted in a non reversible
colostomy
and I have spent the last year learning how to manage it. I have learned to irrigate, which gives me control and, very soon, I will dispense with bags and use caps to cover the stoma.

My ICU story and after.....
My medical condition of Perforated Bowel I could find no support groups for at all, although the
Colostomy
Association was very helpful.

Biopsy Results not the best.
Wasn't surprised at the bowel as I had half expected a
colostomy
but shocked at the rectum being removed. Tumours on diaphragm and bowel. I have my last chemo on Oct 12th and CT scan arranged for middle of November so hopefully things will be a bit clearer then.

Diagnoised with endometriosis 2 months ago, already had an operation and awaiting my second. .... advice welcome please :0)
If this is the case I will wake up after my op with a temporary
colostomy
bag and catheter for 6 weeks.....this terrifies the hell out of me!!! This has all come as a massive blow to me, as I have been having no pain except heavy periods which I thought was normal.

Anyone out there ever experienced BRIGHT YELLOW stool with PBC? ( I know a lil gross)
I've had bright yellow stool for almost two months now. Its constant, at least 5 times a day. ( I had a subtotal colectomy so I have alot of movements). I was just curious if anyone else with PBC experienced light color stools, such as yellow? From what I've read its because of the lack of bile salt

MRI scan booked for 10th July as my uterus is stuck to my bowel!
He said the worse case scenario is possibly a
colostomy
which hopefully will be reversed. I'm due to go back to my consultant on the 7th August for the results of the MRI scan and then I will be booked in for my op. I will be having a total hysterectomy.

After seeing my consultant it looks like a hysterectomy is my only option. I have to have a MRI scan now as my uterus is stuck to my bowel.
Having said that he explained to me that I may end up with a
colostomy
bag as my uterus is stuck to my bowel. That is very rare and they have a good team which will be there when I have the operation.
