First Post - Flecainide with Diltiazem
Hi, my first post but have been a member and avid reader of all your posts (which have been very informative) since joining in Feb 22 when diagnosed with AFib. Question - does anyone have experience of taking Diltiazem alongside Flecainide, and if so, has that been ok in terms of QoL and side effects

No more propafenone!!!! What???
I'm in the U.S., diagnosed PAF ~3 years ago. Have achieved excellent control with propafenone (Rythmol). My pharmacy informed me they cannot refill my prescription, as there is a supply side problem with propafenone. From what I have read, there is a dangerous shortage of propafenone in the U.S and

How do people feel being in persistent AF? I have an appointment for a cardioversion pre op on Thursday after being told after an angiogram that everything the arteries were fine but I was in persistent AF. I have no symptoms and feel absolutely fine, the consultant did double my bisoprolol to lower

low heart rate
hi, I was in hospital 6 weeks ago with a bad attack of A Fib. Came as a shock as I’d had palpitations on and off for a few seconds but nothing lasting hours. I was given Bisopropol and edoxaban to go along with the Ramipril and Amlodopine I was already on. The beta blocker must have worked as I went

I'm 69 and I have lived with Paroxymal AFib for 20 yrs with episodes every few months, After taking Flecanaide, 200mg per day, for 15 years I have been taken off it as it has recently started to affect my heart rate taking it up to and sometimes over 130bpm regularly. I have been signed off from my care at hospital after 10 years of A fib and a stroke
I had a letter from my hospital that was dealing with my last ablation in 2019 , ECG ‘s etc . That they would no longer be looking after me - 2 weeks ago. I went back into A fib summer of 2020 during covid , I had to self assess my medication and my heart rate via my watch . I could see no one because

I want to give up
Over about the past month, I have spiraled into severe anxiety and depression. I've struggled to get out of bed and sometimes haven't. It has affected by work as a lawyer, my family/kids and the relationship with my girlfriend. I feel abandoned by my family (which isn't quite true or fair, but also

GCA diagnostic dilemma
Thank you everyone who has helped so far. Last night I had a message from Rheumy saying I should go to the hospital for an emergency biopsy, with the headache and unusual severe temporal pain being the driver. He said that U/S was so ‘operator sensitive’ as to be unreliable in this ‘locality’. The

Medical OR chemical castration
Hi All, Ok I am 79 and still in great physical condition. PR and ADT for 2 years. To date no unusual physical side effects other than zero sex drive. It looks as thought I will be on ADT until I die. PSA increasing monthly so I will try other chemicals. I want to remain in good shape until my number

Affect of tummy upsets on anti-coagulants,
I was wondering what effect it has on the absorption of anti-coagulants, should something cause you to have diarrhoea - how long does it take after ingestion does it take something like an Eliquis tablet to become effective ?

Introducing myself
I will be 55 soon and developed Afib a year ago in November. I am not overweight, exercise regularly, eat well, hardly drink, non smoker and not taking any medication. I have low Afib. My heart rate fluctuates under 100 mostly. I have been having it every two months (6-8 weeks), with one 4 week exception

2 years of AFib and stop
After being in continuous AFib since 18th October 2021, when diagnosed with AFib, having 2 failed Cardioversions, speak with several doctors at A & E when taken in, and the some Cardiologists, yesterday my AFib stopped! Today I have woken up and no AFib, feels strange. I'm just wondering if it because

A fib Triggers
My husband has paroxysmal A fib. This started after cardiac damage from chemo 4 years ago. He has had 2 ablations, 2 cardioversion and a pharmacy of meds. He is only 62. He went 5 weeks without AFib. Was feeling good. Boom! Tachycardia. Question. We keep trying to find triggers. Only thing

Heart di6
At 36 I had a massive heart attack. 4 years later a stroke I recovered. My heart is enlarged. I had afib given pills and ablation. It worked for 3 years. My afib is back and I am waiting to be treated. I still play racquetball twice a week and lift weights 3 days. I am 61 now. I have worked out since
