Asking for words of support please
Hi, next week I have a VA eval for PTSD/ Depression increase. I know it’s God’s will whatever the decision, but it causes anxiety, esp. when the person evaluating has no idea of my daily battle with depression/ anxiety. Also, a lot of self blaming/ feeling ashamed. Thank you for listening. Hope you

residential advice for anxiety, trauma, ocd but no substance abuse
Seeking a place for 22 year old daughter. Deciding between different places, but OCDI Texas one of them. She also has trauma, body dysmorphia and depressed a bit. Recent dx of OCD, actually. We always treated the anxiety, so not sure if her OCD is bad enough. (We live near Boston so we know McLean).

what do you do when you want to get a grip instead of crying all the time?
last week and today were very hard for me. I’m living with my ex and he started dating someone. It’s a very complicated situation where I feel paralyzed and can’t seem to find the strength to move out. Depression seems to hold me back plus the newly breakup. Any advise on how to come out of this?

Antipsychotics causing restless brain, Antidepressant causing restless sleep

A new paper reporting a small case series of 4 patients who got relief from low dose aripiprazole (abilify ) after augmentation that was resistant to other treatment. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37818170/ Does anyone have any experience with aripiprazole? I took it long ago, before I was even

Debating whether to have myomectomy
Hi there, I have recently been advised to have a myomectomy in order to increase my chances of conceiving. I have three fibroids at the top of my uterus that appear to be removable through keyhole surgery. I'm debating whether to go ahead. I'm nearly 44 and feel that time is against me to start having

Suffering from Depression, Anxiety and Self-Sabotage
Hi. My name is Zara and I've been sabotaging myself during my recovery journey. I've been sabotaging myself at work and alienating myself from people. In January, I suffered from severe depression and got better, but then I started to hurt myself mentally. I discovered that there are other people like

Self-Absorption: The Root of All Psychological Evil vs. Self-Acceptance and Compassion (Dr. Leon Seltzer)
This morning, a good friend and former girlfriend I've been keeping in touch with as we're supporting each other through some difficult times, in relation to my recounting the throes of depression I've found myself in lately, kindly convicted me about looking up and outward more in selflessness instead

ADAA Personal Story: Why I Wrote a Children’s Book about Postpartum Depression When I Was 9-Months Pregnant
When I was growing up, I watched people on TV enter emergency rooms inaccurately believing they were suffering from a heart attack. After a full workup was done, the relieved TV doctor pronounced it was only a panic attack. For a long time, I wondered how someone could possibly confuse emotional stress

How to Feel OK When Your Medication Isn't Right
Since the beginning on September I've been through some big med changes (some by choice and others not so much, stupid insurance companies) and well I'm just very much not ok. But I need to feel marginally ok for my sake, my bfs sake, and for my jobs sake. I thought these new side effects were going

I just want it all to stop
I just want everything to stop. The sadness. The self loathing. The anger. The overstimulation (that only started recently and might be a side effect of medication but I can't get ahold of my stupid psychiatrist from an appointment sooner than Tuesday). The mental breakdowns. The crying. The loneliness

Is Sertraline worth a try
Have been on venlafaxine for a long time together with pregabalin with little success. Am now off pregabalin and reducing venlafaxine with the hope of substituting to another drug. Dr has suggested sertraline with a diazepam emergency back up. Anyone tried this. My mood is unstable and I have highs

Major Depression
I am very depressed and need some encouragement from people who understand. I am resistent to all antidepressents.I am hoping to try Trans Magnetic Therapy as a last resort. I am barely hanging in here. I am so drained by my depressions. I am 78 and have had them since I have been 21. Meds worked for

You All Are Perfect
Hi Everyone, Im an 29 year old woman. Whose battles Depression and anxiety for almost 12 years due to an chemical imbalance. Which is my fault because I tried weed a few times and 2 times I had a VERY bad reaction. I am not a we’d smoker to this day. But it’s nothing wrong with it for the individuals
