As an American living among far less progressive standards I’m so glad to discover this community. I’ve been trying to focus my brain cells to make this brief as I can. Thanks in advance for your generous reading. I’m a 60 year-old female who has for five years reported memory and cognition changes

ferritin
so my ferritin is at 29 and my restless legs are bad so from what I read I should work on increasing my levels. My question is my levels have been lower than this before and I didn’t have any symptoms of restless legs , so does this mean raising my ferritin levels won’t work ?

sore gums anyone?
Good morning everyone just a quick query, each time I reduce my T4 I find I get sore gums and sometimes ulcers in my mouth. Happened about 4 or 5 times. Have any of you had this problem? Also knocks my insomnia into another gear.

adrenal gland & thyroid
I recently read a book “The Great Thyroid Scandal (and how to avoid it)’ and “ticked” my way through the book as I have had 90% of the various symptoms detailed in the book for the past 30 years. It suggested that the adrenal gland & thyroid work closely together & if thyroid is not functioning as it

T4/T3 conversion
Can anyone recommend a good supplement for T4/T3 conversion please? My T3 blood tests (Medicheck) have been in the 3's since Covid - apart from a brief period when I hit the dizzy heights of 4.4 - but I've always been 'within range' so no chance of getting T3! I am currently waiting for an MRI (10

TSH and T4 readings
Hi All I’m new to the thyroid community on Health Unlocked and have a question. I was diagnosed with under active thyroid about two years ago and was put on 25 micrograms of Levothyroxine. My last test result was TSH 7.4 and T4 was 14. My gp won’t test T3 as he says it’s the T4 that’s important and

Causes Of Breathlessness

High FT4 level
My recent blood test showed my TSH level to be 0.6 miu/l and FT4 was 17.3 pmol/l. My GP has advised me to lower my levothyroxine from 125micrograms to 100 micrograms daily. I have been hypothyroid for 14 years now but just recently have been feeling anxious, agitated and stressed for no apparent reason

Finally spoken to endocrinologist 1st in 20+ years
Got to chat with the endocrinologist (not the one I'd hoped for after seeing list on Thyroid UK) I had to really concentrate as English not her 1st language but we managed to have an in depth chat over the phone. Anyway my doctor referred me as didn't want to put my levo up from 100 to 125mcg luckily

Iron deficiency
After blood tests showed low ferritin and other values indicating iron deficient anaemia, the NHS did a fairly thorough job over 6 months with various tests and procedures to eliminate internal bleeds as a cause ( anticoagulant doesn't help!). Finally given the all clear and advised that iron supplementation
