Simvastatin delays CRPC metastasis and AR antagonist resistance by regulating the expression of caveolin‑1.
Although an aberrant caveolin‑1 (Cav‑1) expression has been reported in multiple tumor cell lines, it is unknown whether it is responsible for the progression of
castration
‑resistant prostate cancer (CRPC).

Metformin?
Is anyone here with metastatic stage 4 hormone naive (not yet
castration
resistant) PCa taking Metformin, in addition to ADT (Lupron or Eligard or degarelix)? If so what are your observations regarding effectiveness? Thank-you.

New Drug BAY1841788 (ODM-201) has been successful for CRPC patients, Clinical trial Phase III completed.
This drug is for patients with
Castration
Resistance Prostate Cancer , apparently the clinical trial (NCT02200614) was completed on September 3, 2018, and was successful. Increases the life expectancy from 18.4 to 40.4.

asking for members' input
I do not like the idea of just staying on ADT and waiting for
castration
resistance. His oncologist is willing to go straight to abiraterone (I understand there is no evidence for this, but it seems like a sensible thing to do. What do you guys think?

Overturning Dogma -- Using Testosterone in Prostate Cancer
The concern has been that testosterone will accelerate the growth of prostate cancer cells, and indeed, usual treatment aims to lower testosterone levels with "chemical
castration
" using androgen deprivation therapy.

Has anyone seen testosterone rise on xtandi while still on lupron?
After starting xtandi 3 months ago due to developing
castration
resistance, my T has risen to 63 which is above castrate level. Not sure if it's worth staying on 3 month eligard shot if it's not keeping me below castrate level. Xtandi has been very good at lowering Psa, now undetectable

Local ablative radiotherapy: A means to revert low volume castration-resistant prostate cancer into a hormone-sensitive status?
Sounds promising. These patients had a PSADT of 3.2 months before RT. After RT, it took 15.6 months for the PSA to increase from nadir to nadir+2. Looking forward to the prospective study. ---------- https://ascopubs.org/doi/abs/10.1200/JCO.2018.36.6_suppl.188 --------- Conclusions: A relevant subset
