Castration by Estrogen Patch
This plot shows a dramatic decrease in testosterone and PSA after starting estrogen patch therapy, indicating that transdermal estrogen (TDE) therapy effectively castrates men, and with fewer side effects than Lupron ADT.

PSA reduction after Estrogen Patch Therapy
Here's a revised plot of PSA reduction due to
castration
from Estrogen Patch therapy. The previous version had the wrong time scale. That has been corrected in this version. The total time is 3 months, after which the PSA and testosterone both flatten out versus time.

PCA Cure and when?
7 months into my fight against
castration
sensitive prostate cancer. PSA is 0 on ADT and Abiraterone and methylprednisolone. Averaged 8,600 steps/day. I have just started to add occasional sprinting. I am taking multiple supplements. I am greatful that my PSA is 0.

PROTACs: another technique to help with mCRPC
I always wondered, if these protein degraders can basically destroy AR receptors, hence overcome both
castration
resistance and making the cells refractory to androgens...wouldn't it be useless to continue with ADT? Oh well... https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0753332222015013

castration after 7 years of ADT
I have been on Zoladex for nearly 7 years and am fully over any regrets of Chemical
castration
. My psa is now slowly rising and ghastly taken 2 years from undetectable to 0.65.

Does this mark the beginning of castration resistance?
I've been reading on this forum about switching out ADT medication etc. and how that has given some people more time before
castration
resistance. I was wondering what options are available given dad's current situation.

Expanded label sought for 177Lu-PSMA-617 in prostate cancer: about time
I have already done the taxane part and I would like to see how 177Lu performs as first line...but this is also interesting, it seems more effective than a change in ARPI in
castration
resistant setting "Data also showed that a PSA decline of at least 50% was more than 2.5 times more frequent with 177Lu-PSMA

PSA Survival vs Testosterone Nadir - 1
The prior definition of
castration
being < 50 ng/dL probably needs to redefined to < 20 ng/dL. (I read that the level of 50 ng/dL may be an artifact representing the lowest limit that testosterone could be acurately measured many years ago. That makes sense to me).

Length of Treatment for Orgovyx (Relugolix) versus Lupron and other Longer Acting ADT drugs as Adjuvant to RT or Used for IADT?
Extrapolating out I'd say it's plausible to get the equivalent effective time of
castration
you'd have to take Orgovyx an additional 4-6 months! So 10-12 months Orgovyx = 6 months (2 shots) Lupron.

Swollen cord-stump after castration?
It was often swollen over some days sporadically in the first year after
castration
. Than it decreased with the time. Now - shortly after a TURP at 13. Oktober - the stump got swollen again. I believe or feel until 1 cm diameter.

Becoming mCRPC despite falling PSA
He accepted this during the meeting, but afterwards didn't really unterstand why he was seen as
castration
resistant now despite the ever decreasing PSA. Could the doctor classify him as
castration
resistant just because of the result of the MRI?

The prior definition of

being < 50 ng/dL probably needs to redefined to < 20 ng/dL. (I read that the level of 50 ng/dL may be an artifact representing the lowest limit that testosterone could be accurately measured many years ago. That makes sense to me).

Early Results from Transdermal Estrogen PATCH trial - 2
So, TDE can be more effective at
castration
than Lupron
in this study.
The lower chart shows the level of estradiol (picomol/L) after 1 month of treatment. The Lupron level is about 60, while the high-dose level is much higher, about 840 (pico mol/L) (i.e., supra-physiologic).
