Dr. Peter Attia describes the mental and physical benefits of a low-carb (ketosis) diet through his personal experience and experimentation
In this video Dr. Peter Attia gives a testimony about his transition to low carb eating, some of the reasoning behind it, and how it effects his mental and physical performance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hB7aGnfLB-8 I've also felt the mental effects that he describes around focus, but that was

GOOD NEWS
It is now three months since I underwent cardiac ablation for A Fib and A Flutter (the full English you might say) . The procedure wasn't as straightforward as the EP would have liked but I survived and, as far as I can tell , I have been in NSR ever since. I really am enjoying getting back to a degree

Saturday Sensor Inserted: DEXCOM (Sensor del sábado insertado: DEXCOM)
Well, it's Saturday and change the sensor day. I can't believe how great this one sensor I just removed worked. I was very surprised since I was a little worried that that one would have some issues while I was away for the last few days.... Glad to be wrong about something for a change! Bueno, es

What is thyrotoxic myopathy... just wondering?

Had partial thyroidectomy in 1980 (had a 4 nodule goitre and was told post operation i had papillary carcinoadenoma). No pre op scan in those

Symptoms returning after a short reprieve post op...
Hi there, I had a partial thyroidectomy in December and was found to have had a papillary cancer which thankfully hadn't spread. All blood tests I had before my operation showed my thyroid function to be in the normal range although I had lots of symptoms of hypothyroidism - constant fatigue, always

Recovery after partial thyroidectomy
I had partial thyroidectomy nearly 4 weeks ago and would be grateful for any advise on their experiences of recovery as I'm really struggling with my voice which is very weak. People can't hear me if there is background noise & I can't talk any louder! It makes me feel drained and it also feels like

Air bubble after drinking liquids.
So I had a partial thyroidectomy about 7 months ago. But for some reason every once in awhile I choke on liquids, and when I do this big air bubble blocks my air way and is nearly impossible to get out it seems. When I do get it out, my air way closes so tight I can barely breathe in at all so I just

Levothyroxine and RLS
Hello I had a partial thyroidectomy last year and so far have managed without drug treatments. However my current symptoms (even more tired than normal if that's possible, foggy brain, weight gain etc) indicate that it may no longer be functioning as effectively. I'm having a blood test on Friday as

Controlling pain while exercising with endo ?
Hi Ladies, I am wondering if anyone has found a way of controlling pain whilst exercising with endo? I'm 18 months post lap, stage 3. My op scars still hurt and pull when I'm exercising, only holding them seems to help. I am thinking maybe some kind of compression garment might help. I am also 4 months

Hello everyone, Have been having B12 injections since 6 February at the surgery (after a long battle with GP, letter writing + enclosures of highlighted evidence from guidelines and support from PAS and members of forum = so thank you all once more) and there has been much improvement. When GP said

Problem with partial thyroidectomy
My 87 yr old mother in law had partial thyroidectomy 4 weeks ago for suspected cancer, she is still in hospital as she has lost her swallow and can only eat pureed food, & even then she sometimes chokes. She had NG tube fitted but went wrong and now refusing any sort of feed tube. She is also struggling

1st day of a new life
Hello all, Im Jan and I am a Brit living abroad and it is time to shed these pounds. I think most of the excess weight came from depression, even though I love living in another country and have embraced the life. The problem is always the guilt of leaving my parents behind and having a life over here

I know this forum is about anemia but I have a question about polycythemia?
Okay so back in April my red blood cell counts were high 5.31(3.70-5.10). Hemoglobin 15.6, hematocrit 46.9. Doctor initially was testing for vitamin D3 deficiency. Had no idea about the red blood cell count he said everything was fine except the D3 deficiency. Now recently I just had a cardiac ablation

Blood results.....very confused !
So docs finally agreed to test my T4, results were confusing over the phone so went in this evening to get a print out. The instructions clearly say 'test T4 patient symptomatic' but they only tested TSH at the lab ! The nurse taking my blood even took a highlighter to the instruction! I'm fuming! Doc

After a battle GP agrees to test T4!
So after my previous posts about increasing TSH after my partial thyroidectomy I have become a nuisance at my GPs until they agree to further tests. He has agreed to test T4 but that's it, will this be enough to see a picture of what's happening to me alongside my increasing (but still within Range)

Feeling Helpless
The cardiologist put me on

XT 180mg and Flecanide 100mg a day. After 6 mo, I went for a check up where he told me I would need an ablation or be on meds for the rest of my life.

Hungry for info.
Hi everyone, I'm a Newby as I've only just discovered this site. I'm a 54 year old female but had a partial thyroidectomy when I was 7 years old. They started me off after that on a tiny dose of T4 and over the years I've gradually increased to 200 mcg levothyroxine daily. All has been OK until I hit
