Cardioversion was not what I expected - Closing Post
My cardiologist did say he wanted to have a review in a months time so I have decided to write to him about having a review and also to say that I want to discuss the events of the
cardioversion
at the same time and the reason why I was not sufficiently sedated.

When should I go to A&E
I am on list for
cardioversion
again and need to talk through my options as I think they will now say the time has come for a pace maker A/V node as my last resort !!!

8 days post ablation
I’m now back at home and awaiting a
cardioversion
to see if we can reset the heart and rid it of the flutter/afib but I think what I want to say is, if something doesn’t feel right, go to A&E! I rang the establishment that carried out my ablation and was advised to speak to my GP.

Normal Life?
Can you continue to live a normal life in AF without
Cardioversion
or other treatments if the AF is anti-symptomatic or will it continue to get worse causing problems further down the line. Best wishes Stuart

Permanent afib and ablation
Hello my husband has been in permanent afib for 5 years. He has had 2 cardioversions and one ablation. Never put him in normal sinus for even a minute. He recently had prostate surgery and because of hospitalizations he was without his digoxin for 2 doses. He has an ICD that is intended to shock

AF query
I was advised to carry on with the meds as I was having a
cardioversion
in October, I have since had this and it was successful with a follow up phone call in Feb this year. I didn’t notice any difference to be honest.

Post cardioversion question
I’m just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences to me? I had a few AF experiences before going into persistent AF in September, having a CV a month later, which got me back into normal rhythm. Since then I’ve had a few moments where my heart went into Atrial Flutter, showing 170bpm and

Flecainide stopped, early days but so far so good
I had a successful
cardioversion
August 2020 and remained on flecainide 50mg bd and apixaban. At my final check up in March 2021 my cardiologist said I could try to gradually reduce and then come off flecainide Nov/Dec 2021.

An update on this pain-in-the-bum condition
Cardioversion
fixed that for about 10 months then Flecainide from September 2019 until cryo-ablation in October 2021. Stopped the post abalation meds ten days ago. Sinus fine and ecg fine last week when my cardiologist saw me.

EXERCISING WITH PERSISTENT ATRIAL FIBRILLATION – ALSO CONSIDERING AN ABLATION
However, even as a reasonably fit and very active person in my early sixties, I unfortunately had a heart attack in April this year (NSTEMI) which luckily has not left me with any significant damage, but which caused me (presumably related) to go into AF and which has become persistent, including after a

Should I have second cardiac ablation?
I am currently scheduled to have my second ablation in a few weeks. I’m currently having second thoughts on going through with it. I’m a 32 year old male, who’s relatively healthy. In the past 3 years I’ve had multiple instances of AF, have had 3 cardioversions, and one cryo ablation. Out of the 5-6

Can AFib cause partial seizures (epilepsy)? Both electrical ?
saw a great neurologist beginning of December who after much investigation has diagnosed Partial seizures. These are just numbness, weakness, speech slurring mainly but lasting no longer than 15mins.I can't help think these could be connected. My AFib not really stabilized at the moment & I am awaiting

Anxiety after AF
I was diagnosed with AF and told everything was fine, my score was 0 for chance of stroke etc and I had a
cardioversion
2 months later and for the last 4 months I’ve been in sinus rhythm.

Heart Failure Question
He had a follow up procedure booked (
cardioversion
) which they cancelled due to lack of beds. I really want to know what it all means for the future. Will he recover at all? Will it get worse or stay the same? The internet says things like only lasting five years so I have come to the experts.

Anti coagulation in preparation for Cryo ablation
I'm slated to have a cryoablation in less than 4 weeks and do not take anti coagulants (AC) because since I had a
cardioversion
over a year ago I've been almost always in NSR, albeit with lots of ectopics, and my Chad score is 0.

Afib, Flecainide and exercise, again!
Anyhow now I'm on Flecainide (50mg x 2) awaiting
cardioversion
(that could be months away) and, after a couple of weeks of aclimatisation, I beginning to feel like I did in my 40s. I'm in my late 50s and have been feeling 90 years old (apologies to you athletic nonanagenerians out there).
