Simulation
I had my markers and spaceoar placed last week and have an appointment for my simulation tomorrow. The valium helped with my procedure last week-I wish I had taken some before the biopsy. Will I need to take something before the simulation, or is it pain free?

Good morning all. I have an endo appt this Thursday and am trying to prepare myself as I am worried my dosage of Levo might be reduced. I am concerned that T3 conversion needs improvement as I still don't feel 'good' but because my TSH is at the bottom of the range my endo may ignore my concern. I can't

Also Inspired by Paul's Post: beta blocker vs. calcium channel blocker
Hello fellow Afibbers, Although I thought to myself, "It's just me," this update might resonate with someone else. After my initial diagnosis a year and a half ago, I was put on the beta blocker metoprolol --first at a low dosage, then increasing to the max (100 mg / day). It did next to nothing in

Computer-Assisted Levothyroxine Dose Selection for the Treatment of Postoperative Hypothyroidism
A paper which causes me significant concern. This is my blog which explains, I hope, my deep scepticism about existing prediction of required levothyroxine doses. [i]

Radium 223 and (AdcalD3) calcium supplements
Hi I was hoping for some clarity here as I've been getting different advice in the UK. I think the advice is to keep off the calcium supplements 7 days before a Ra 223 injection and then return to the tablets a few days after. Similarly my Zometa (Zoledronic Acid )injection should be timed so it

Newly Diagnosed
I was diagnosed with Osteopenia in July of 2018. I was told to continue with Vitamin D and Calcium daily. It did absolutely nothing. After doing some research, and with the numbers I had, I should have definitely been scanned again before 3 years/3 months later. November 2021 my left femur went "up"

Advice about plan of treatment
I am 67, was diagnosed with PMR 2 weeks ago after 4 weeks of symptoms (stiffness and pain in neck, arms, shoulders, couldn't raise arms above shoulders, immense tiredness etc). Initial GP contact was excellent - he identified the problem, blood tests same day, consult 2 days later to confirm diagnosis

SpaceOAR placement day after
For anyone considering SpaceOAR rectal spacer, here's my experience one day after the procedure. While I see some have had this done under anesthesia, I did not. It was not presented as an option for me, and after going through it, I don't know that it would be necessary unless you have a very low tolerance

Low Platelet, WBC, Lymphocyte etc
Good morning, I was wondering whether it is normal for those of us with UAT/Hashimotos to have low counts on these things? Whenever I get a full test done they come back slightly low or borderline. These are the ones I'm generally low or borderline on (since around 2012) : Lymphocyte count - last
