asthmatic response to new rug made in India
I bought a new, woollen rug shortly before Christmas 2023. It immediately caused me to go from being virtually free of asthma symptoms to being in need of steroid inhaler and frequent ventolin doses - I was very short of breath, my lungs were irritated and when exercising, swimming or walking, I’d

Can anyone confirm my understanding please? I can't take fostair, it gave me awful palpitations, tremors and excess mucus to the point I felt like I was drowning when I lay down so it was quickly stopped. I saw a respiratory consultant recently and as most other inhalers have already been tried he suggested

Tapering off Prednisolone 5mg suppositories
Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone here has used Predsol 5mg suppositories for 3 months? My Gastro said it was ok to use them that long . . . I'm wondering if I need to taper off (for eg, use every second day for a few weeks?) The gastro was not happy with me last visit as my bleeding had come back

I've been on Budesonide for about 6 years on & off. After the first long taper I managed well for a long time. MicroscopicCollageonous Colitis was diagnosed. Mostly when taper finished there is only a week or 2 them cycle starts again. Another colonoscopy was in Jan this year conforming the diagnosis

PBC, now cirrhosis
HiHad PBC diagnosed for 5 yrs but Alp up since 2012. Been on Urso for 5 yrs and great. In 2021 my ALT was slightly out of range but ignored by the specialist. GP flagged it up January 2023 and I had an ultrasound just showed enlarged spleen. Fibroscan in April jumped from stage one to bottom of stage

Side effects of Relvar Ellipta?
Hi, I have been on Relvar Ellipta for, I think, four years now. It works well to control my asthma, but I wonder if anybody has got any side effects from this medicine? Apart from asthma, I have problems with a heart valve (Mitral), and I am hormone treatment for prostate cancer, and also I take Budesonide

Broncholidator Reversibility Test
Hi, I posted a few days ago about my team wanting to do a broncholidator reversibility test and FeNO before they put me forward for biologics. I wasn't going to do the test, then decided to do it, incase it did show reversibility to save time waiting for a referral to Wynthenshawe as my current hospital

Asthma and ADHD

The plexopathy continues
After speaking to the consultant again he is saying to maintain long term on a low dose of Prednisolone. I'm back I agony so I have to do something. The Gabapentin isn't helping in the slightest so I'm coming off it slowly. I asked if there was an alternative to the Prednisolone and he mentioned methotrexate

Tezepelumab/Spirometry with Reversibility
Hi, hope everyone is managing well. I’m just looking to hear others experiences if possible. I’m quite complex and don’t show a high FeNO and spirometry is normal and my asthma is driven by neutrophils for inflammation. Best peak flow is 440, hovering around 220-350 - 220 is pre meds in the morning

Coming off Steroids
Since being told I have no active inflammation, I thought I would try and come off the steroids. I'm only on a couple of Budesonide as a maintenance treatment. Anyway things were going OK ish, till my last day of taking 1 tablet. During my taper, I've become very tired, even more so than I normally am

5 Year old with asthma
Hello all. My son is 5 years old (6 in February) and was diagnosed with asthma 3 years ago. He was a very normal healthy baby boy. When he was age 2 he started getting sick literally every single day after he ate any type of food. For a year they gave him steroids and he gained a lot of weight. At age

Fostair finished and can't get any until tomorrow/Covid too
I have Covid and was taking my Fostair as prescribed by practitioner nurse. Today I noted it was empty. I have still got my old Budesonide and Salbutamol left from when I switched over in October. Can I use this until I get supply tomorrow?
