Hi Im new to this site. Seeking advise re asthma & anxiety
Back in 2014 my asthma was totally under control. The only time I needed ventolin was if I had a chest infection. In August I burnt myself out overdoing things and crashed. Numerous blood tests came back normal. My asthma symptoms slowly got worse and I started on 2 preventors. I tried to keep up with

Snowed in with Asthma flare up.
My asthma with its amazingly good timing as always has decided to flare up badly now that I am stuck at home behind half a mile of snowdrifts between me and the car. The road to the doctors or to hospital is blocked with drifts in both directions. I’m ok for now, had a really rough night sat up not

It's not a No yet to getting on the Lung Transplant List in the UK
The situation is, I have lived with one lung since the age of 6 months, I had
brittle
asthma
at birth and my left lung collapsed and I was taken in to hospital and my lung filled with blood and it was decided at the time that the best course of action was to remove it. 13 year ago I was diagnosed with

Repeat prescription refused
All of these were prescribed by my consultant as I have
brittle
asthma
and it has never been a problem before. I wait until I am on my last weeks worth and then pop my repeat in electronically.

Life long asthmatic, dating from the 1960s when asthmatics were often told by medics that it was psychosomatic! Needless to say, my asthma was badly controlled up to the early 1980s. I moved from home to a job, I had one of my usual asthma attacks and was finally taken to A&E (a first for me, even though

Eosiniphilic asthma and colds
Not sure whether it is my eosiniphilic asthma or the prednisolone but I am constantly fighting coughs and colds - taking supplements makes no difference- as soon as one goes I get another. Anyone else like this?

Newbie to asthma.
Hi, I've been having breathing difficulties for a little over a week now, I had a similar thing just over a month ago that went on its own. This time though, the doc prescribed me a course of antibiotics that didn't work, I was back and forth to the hospital as I was really struggling to get a lungful

How to best deal with panic attacks when having an asthma attack?
My niece has had 2 serious asthma attacks recently that have in turn triggered a panic attack making the episode so much worse. Can anyone advise how we best deal with this or who can give medical advice and guidance to manage the panicking. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Food and drink allergies and asthma.
Hi Folks, Just wondering if any one in the forum has allergies to food/drink, having been recently diagnosed i really need to get to know just what i am allergic to. I know that i have allergies (not entirely sure it is dust mites though) so it will be interesting to find out roughly what my allergies

Hi – Just been diagnosed with Asthma - A couple of questions.
I had a cough for a couple of months, felt fine (99%) but still coughed, so went to the GP – a few appointments later I was sent to the nurse for an asthma test just as the cough was getting better. I was surprised I had asthma. I had childhood asthma with no problems and I am fit person who is always

Wondering what age people on here were when they were diagnosed with Asthma? Also, did anyone develop Asthma as a direct result from smoking
I would be really grateful to hear everyone’s comments to my question. I’m 41 and have recently been very wheezy, mainly at night and in the mornings. Very breathless with some mild chest and back aching. I’ve been prescribed the steroid and ventolin inhalers. Waiting for further tests to confirm I have

Asthma / diabetes
Asthma & Diabetes. I'm just recovering from pleurisy infection 5 days in hospital, and feel very weak. I've also been told I may have type 2 diabetes due to inhaler use / occasional prednislone for chest infections over the years. Very frustrated this has not very been mentioned before, I feel let down

Oxygen and asthma
I have asthma Year round because of allergies. This time last year it seemed really bad. Went to Dr and put on oxygen because I failed 6 min walk test. Later I had a cat scan which showed mild Bronchieactesis. After 4 months I was able to come off oxygen because my PFT's and walk test was much better
