Help please
I don't really have a question just a plea for help. My story is very complicated and to go through everything would be too much for you all to read. After appalling treatment through West Herts Trust. I was told after emergency surgery that I had stage 4 Endo and it was in my bowel. Ovary with an Endo

Stronger than steroids
I have had nasty asthma attacks for four days now, as the weather has got cold again. The asthma nurse says that she will ask the consultants permission to move me on to something stronger than fostair 200, to avoid having to give more pred. Any ideas as to which inhaler she could be referring to

Advice for operation
Hi All,I'm scheduled for my debulking surgery next week, I've been told to expect to be in hospital for 7-10 and will almost certainly have a stoma. Does anyone have any advice for me on what to take to hospital, and how to manage those first few days after the op? Any food to avoid, and any food recommended

Quit smoking 5 fags a day for 14 years and asthma has kicked off..
Hi peeps,I'm new to this forum 👋. Never really struggled with asthma since I was a teenager 20 years ago. At the age of 21, I started smoking roll ups. Never had asthmatic cough during the 14 years of smoking. Reason I gave up was because I took up vaping & preferred the taste of that to fags. But then

Mannitol challenge
Hi, hope you are all well. 😊 Bit of a long story sorry…. I’ve recently seen a new consultant, who is sending me for a ‘mannitol’ challenge test and wondered if anyone else who has similar asthma to me, has had experience of this and what the outcome was. A consultant I saw a couple of years ago,

Question for those with both asthma and nasal polyps
Hello, I just wanted to ask those with CRSwPolyps (rhinitis and polyps) and asthma, which developed first ie asthma or rhinitis/polyps and by how many years. Reason I ask - apparantly up to 70% of people with rhinitis and polyps develop asthma. I have had rhinitis with polyps and I am told that

Can’t decide
I have significant stage 4 endometriosis and adenomyosis for which I’ve had multiple surgeries including two excision and removal of left ovary and both tubes. Since my last excision I’ve been in pain every day which is now much worse as the disease returns within months of surgery even when excised

Pulmonary Rehabilitation Course
I got asked to come in to see my gp asthma nurse. On the asthma nurses door she had a large poster advertising my local hospitals pulmonary rehabilitation course, and the poster suggested that I ask my local gp practice to refer me. I asked the nurse if she could refer me, she said that only a consultant

Graves Disease
Hi, I have type 2 diabetes, I was over-prescribed metformin which had its horrors. When I came off it I was quickly diagnosed with thyroxicosis and hypercalcemia. Saw the endocrinologist yesterday. |He sat there and said do you know what you have wrong with you, then he told me I had Graves disease

Asthma with fixed airways?
Hello! I'm new to this forum. Over the years, I've had a diagnosis of Asthma, followed a few years later by COPD, followed after that by Bronchiectasis. Last summer, I went to the surgery for my COPD review and the nurse said, 'I don't know why you're here. You don't have COPD.' I argued, of course

Query asthma- advice needed
Good evening. I have three children, the oldest is 12 and was diagnosed with asthma shortly after he turned 5, for the most part, his asthma is well-managed and rarely causes him problems. My middle child is asthma free which is great but they are querying asthma in my youngest, she is currently 4 (

allergies, asthma and polyps
Good morning. I’ve been on Benralizumab for two years now. It has been extremely successful in treating my atopic eosinophilic asthma, going from monthly chest infections to zero and I am extremely grateful. Like many asthma sufferers I am allergic to many things; cats, dogs, all types of pollen

benralizumab side effects
Hi all. Finally started my asthma injections and my asthma has reduced dramatically, it's been nearly 4 weeks since my first injection. I was wondering if anyone else had these side effects. Mainly some dizziness and quiet bad fatigue. Often I get really tired and lack of energy. Got my second jab this

inflammation in eyes
I have an inflammatory eye condition either episcleritis or anterior uveitis. I’ve been on steroid drops for this which have given me cataract. On top of this inhave 2 stoma bags for a perforated bowel ( which triggered the eye inflammation). It’s been a horrendous time and I’ve become very down.
