Starting Xeloda soon
I am a rare case for Johns Hopkins. Dx de novo ER/Pr +, Her2 - almost 8 years ago. Two very tiny liver mets only. Did extremely well and achieved NED status on Ibrance and AI for 6.5 years when we noticed the primary site of cancer in the breast was growing. Switched to Faslodex and Fulvestrant.

Have you been on Gemcitabine (Gemzar)?
Hello, I am starting Gemcitabine tomorrow and am wondering if anyone has advice on this chemo? Is it well tolerated? A nurse told me today I should get a port, my Oncologist said I should be fine without one. I had a terrible time with Enhertu and extreme nausea, I’m hoping this drug won’t be as hard

Sister has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer
Hi, I really don’t know where to go so thought I might find some help/support here. I am the eldest of my 2 siblings. 3 years ago we lost my younger brother (23) to lung cancer 3 months after diagnosis. Now we have just found out my younger sister (37) has breast cancer. I’m so scared I’m going to lose

ca125 up from last reading
I’m 49 and in 2019 was diagnosed with stage 1c2. It was found in pathology after having ovaries removed prophylactically due to finding out I was BRCA1 positive. I had 3 rounds of taxol and carboplatin. I might mention that my ca125 was 8 so never indicated cancer. During chemo my number rose to 9.

SBRT to C2 and hilar lymph node
We’ve met with the radiation oncologist and have had multiple MRIs, Ct scans. The doctor wants to SBRT the bone Mets on the C2 in 5 treatments. Yesterday, a head and shoulders cage was made which my husband will be wearing as he is strapped to the table during radiation. The doctor has cautioned my husband

What are your symptoms of regenerative nodular hyperplasia and is it worth doing a CT scan?
Wanted to ask of those who were diagnonsed with RNH what you symptoms were and how it was eventually diagnosed (and whether you went through a battery of tests, all showing normal liver function)? It appears this has a lot of cirrhosis symptoms but is very difficult to diagnose (only a specialised form

Update, tumor in lymph node
I had a meeting with my oncologist yesterday about the findings from the PSMA Pet Scan. This is the reply I got. Any comments? "PSMA-PET shows a PSMA-positive lymph node medially for the iliac externa vessels on the left side. This is located in the mesentery. The urologist states that surgery is

Tachycardia
Rather a long post I’m afraid. In 2000 I was 44 and developed unstable angina over 4 months. My husband had BUPA with his work so I saw a cardiologist quickly, put on aspirin, Bisoprolol and GTN. The cardiologist was always unsure whether it was a blockage to my LAD or a spasm and I was due to undergo

On path for an MRI-guided SBRT
April 2023: After not too much activity on my side on this forum (aside from following a few threads), thought it time for a little update, as I am getting closer to a "definitive" therapy, after my initial diagnosis in Oct. 2019. In the last year or so, I have been doing imaging - PSMA PET-CT in March

Doing so well - but cause for concern now.
Late 2011, I was diagnosed with two separate cancers, lung and bowel. On the 12th January 2012, I had a left lung pneumonectomy and on the 3rd February, three weeks later, I had a good part of my bowel removed. In December 2022, I underwent a colonoscopy, as a result of which a polyp was removed in

How fast should your PSA drop after the first ADT treatment.
My husband has stage 4. It is in his lungs, ribs, shoulder and spine. Plus a lot of the lymph nodes. No pain except when he broke his ribs just lying on his stomach. That is healing without the palliative radiation. How fast should his PSA drop. How will we know if this is working. I know this treatment

Rant! Rant! Rant!
It’s hard to talk about cancer because there are so many things people do differently in treatment, so many choices we make. I don’t get offended much but someone said something today that kind of hit me the wrong way. I never understood why stage iv cancer patients were offended by those who didn’t

Notes on Updates and latest research from the ASH annual meeting.
MAZCD posted a good broadcast on "updates and latest research from the ASH annual meeting." Why do they not prescribe Grastofil (filgrastim) during chemotherapy
When I started 6 rounds of chemotherapy in 2017 I was not aware of the drug filgrastim. During my second infusion I had complications due to a very high fever and was hospitalized for 5 days. I was given intravenous full spectrum antibiotics every 4 hours for the 5days. After this I was prescribed Grastofil
