Bowel irrigation (Not "colonic irrigation")
The next step is at home
bowel
irrigation
and I am just waiting for an appointment with the
bowel
nurse to issue me with the equipment. It would be helpful to hear of anyone`s experience with this. I don`t know which system I will be using but it is not likely to be a balloon one initially.

3 failed coloscopies
I have had three failed colonoscopies in the past, one being totally horrifically painful. Due to the growth of very large polyps one over 2cm I am being asked to have another colonoscopy. To say that I am terrified is an understatement. I was told by the consultant 10 years ago that I was a very

colonoscopy perforation risk
I saw my PCP and told him there was rectal bleeding and he immediately said I need a colonoscopy. However, the last time I had one I almost got a perforation. The doctor had to stop the procedure. That was a year ago. During the procedure I felt a burning, searing pain which was not normal so I know

Iodine and Povidone - A Chemistry Lesson
Over the years, we have seen many mentions of povidone-iodine. This video is the first time I have ever come across a proper explanation as to why povidone-iodine is chosen! It then continues with its aim of extracting pure iodine from povidone-iodine. The video could be very boring if you are

Cholestyramine
My husband has had explosive diarrhea since mid February. After blood tests, stool samples, colonoscopy, and more stool samples, they are not able to determine what is causing the diarrhea. The doctor has prescribed Cholestyramine. Has anyone had experience with this medication and did it help?

Colonoscopy v Colonography
Has anyone else been told they have a loopy bowel and it is not advisable to have a colonoscopy anymore. They recommended ct colonography, but i am worried about the amount of radiation this needs. Apparently 2yrs normal exposure in one go. Anyone else had this predicament?

I'm 75 years old and during a colonoscopy today, my doctor found 10 precancerous plops and one, malignant-looking mass at the end of colon.
He is confident that it is cancer but doesn't know what stage. He has referred me to a good surgeon, whose office will call me next week to set up an appointment. Meanwhile, he gave me a referral for a "CT scan of chest, abdomen and pelvis with PO & IV Contrast." He wants to see if the cancer has spread

SeHCAT scan - eeek!
Got my letter through to book the SeHCAT scan. I'm just freaked out by having to go to the same clinic that caused me so much distress during colonoscopies/endoscopies. I know this won't hurt and logically I don't need to worry but I can't help it.🙄

Bowel preparation before surgery
Hi everyone! 💛 Just been on pre op assessment and nurse said I don’t need to do bowel preparation at home. I will have hysterectomy with bowel resection and Endo excision. Has anyone had bowel preparation at hospital just before the operation? I am quite concerned what is going on 🤷♀️

Colon cancer after CLL diagnosis
Things were going so well. At 63 and while living in France for a work contract, my husband, who already has HF low EF (which I managed to improve recently to an EF of 43%) and who has always been in excellent shape with diet and physical exercise, was diagnosed with CLL in the spring of 2023 . We

Colon Journey
I thought I’d share my journey leading up to this point and I hope to continue to update as things move along. I hate it when nobody updates. Timeline: 12 years ago: After my first daughter turned 1 I went to the bathroom with blood in stool. It was super bright red and a lot. Went to the doctor and
