Dietary interventions for heart disease
This is one of the most extraordinary videos about heart disease I've seen, and I thought it might be of general interest. Dr Lundell is a retired heart surgeon who became distressed by seeing people traipse through his operating theatre with the same old problems, and asked himself: why is this happening

Help please
Hello everyone. I would really love to hear your advice if it’s not a problem. I’m relatively new in the world of Hashimoto’s as I’ve been diagnosed when I was 9 years old, so my mother took care of me and my therapy. Now I’m 21 and started to educate and taking care of it myself, but still don’t know

Do I need to reduce T4? Latest results
Hi everyone, as SlowDragon is aware from our conversation yesterday I have had another blood test done. And now I have my new test results. I am on 150mcg T4 Synthroid daily and 7.5mcg T3 split into 2 doses daily. I think I need to reduce my T4. I increased it from 100mcg to 150mcg after my last test

HbA1c testing
I have a fasting HbA1c test each year as part on my T2 check up. My wife's GP wanted a series of blood test for her and her HbA1c was non fasting. Do fasting and non fasting tests give the same results. I assume that my fasting test is to get a separate result from the HbA1c.

Newly diagnosed with AF
I’m newly diagnosed with af a 53 year old man. Feel reasonably fit. I have been put on one of the new blood thinners rivaroxaban. Any advice or direction would be most gratefully received. I do have raised blood sugar levels but not to the point of a type 2 diabetes diagnosis and am medicated for high

Imbruvica with Hep B
Three years ago when I was diagnosed with Non Hodgkin Lymphoma the first doctor went out of his way to protect my liver. In 1982, 35 years ago I had a full blown case of Hepatitis B. I was tested for Hep B antibodies before I went on the first chemo medication. Along with the first three chemo drugs

Anger with the champix
Hi there, I'm now on day 10 and still smoking but only around 10 which is good for me. My problem is the anger. I'm snapping at absolutely everything , especially the kids who think I've lost the plot. I didn't have any patience before I started these and now I can turn from normal to psyco in seconds

Low carb and Keto diets
I am currently reading 'Eat rich Live Long' by Cummins and Gerber MD. It is a fascinating book that borders on being a full blown medical textbook in that it provides the most lucid explanation I have seen about the devastating effects of eating sugar on the human body, what it does to the bodies systems

Hi! New to this Community
Hi Everyone! I have just joined this Community and am also in the Liver Community. I have had Type 2 Diaberes for at least 20 years - haven’t anything more than a feeling as to when first diagnosed. As usual, I suppose ?, it was controlled by diet moving on to Metformin. When I had my liver transplant

Best time of day to take Vitamin B Complex?
I'm hypo, with Hashi's, and have been supplementing for almost a year based on the helpful advice from everyone on this site. Approximately 2 months ago I went gluten-free. After my last Medichecks test in November 2018 I was advised (by this site) to add B Complex to my supplements, so I started on

Does T3 use up Vitamins?
Hi all just a quick question does anyone know if T3 uses up Vitamins specifically the B Vitamins because I'am very low again on Folate (guessing around 5 or lower) and have all the symptoms of it. Also my b12 was last checked to be in the low 300s. So I got a whole wack of bloods again to check for anemia
