The Zoe programme and diabetes
Following on from the recent post about the Zoe programme. I saw my daughter yesterday and she can't eat sweet things because she has pre-diabetes. She's 60. My husband at the age of about 56 was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. His sugar level was very high. He dieted, lost about 4 stone in weight

High B6
Does anybody else have peripheral neuropathy that doesn't seem to be improving with B12 injections? My neuroimmunologist ordered blood tests and some of them I had never had before. One being B6. It came back quite high and he said that would be causing my numbness in legs and feet. I was told

Curious, pondering questions about alcohol, PA and B12
I was wondering if anyone might be honest enough to say whether they had a B12 deficiency from alcohol use? It's anonymous here and so no one will know if we share. For example, I have a family member who has been in recovery for many years. And when they went into rehab they were given B12 shots

A question about ashwagandha?
I was looking up this herb for interactions on the pharmacuetical database I subscribe to and read the following. I am concerned about any herb that could suppress dopamine, does the statement below mean that dopamine is also reduced which is not good effect for PD? I know many folks with and without

New here. had a recent post about my strange vibration sensations in my body. I am newly dx, not on meds yet. Anyone take supplements.....I read something about Selenium in addition to B vitamins, D, iron? Would love to hear more. Any recommendation of a good book for a beginner like me. :-)

What's up with Choline?
I have seen a number of posts where people have referenced avoiding eggs due to their Choline content. Is this a real concern for APC patients? A recent article brought these concerns to mind: Part of the vitamin B family, choline helps the body use fats more efficiently by breaking them into smaller

Metformin
I have been on pred for almost three years and am currently at 7 mg. I have just been put on Metformin as my A1C is at 8.2. I’m having problems adjusting to the Metformin (high stomach acid and pains) Anyone else out there have similar issues. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Help with test results please!
Hi all, I’ve just received my test results for the advanced thyroid function test via Medichecks after increasing my Levothyroxine from 125mcg to 150mcg. I had the blood drawn 25 hours after my last Levothyroxine dose and before 9am, fasting. I also stopped iron and any supplements containing B vitamins

Diabetes Too!
in addition to my PC I have Type II diabetes. The Zytiga/Prednisone is creating havoc with my glucose. Would any of you know if the time I take these meds worsens this problem?

hi I've been on here for some time and not taken the first step to gain control....I've read loads and know what needs to be done but not put into practice. I've been trying to retire gracefully from my work as a podiatrist, the transition has been difficult. I'm coming up to my 69th birthday and

How long do b vitamins take to work
Hi guys I hope you can give me some hope. I’ve had bilateral paresthesias in my feet and lower legs for a good year now and 2 months ago I realised that b 12 deficiency is a strong possibility. ( I’ve had loads of other treatment previously from chiropractor, physio and doing lots of core strengthening

Should I be concerned?
My recent blood test results:- Serum vitamin B12 level 956 ng/L [197.0 - 771.0] Above high reference limit Interpretation of haematinics: https://tinyurl.com/BiochemInfo Weblink also available via VoY RSS Pathology tab. High B12 may be due to supplements or fortified food. High levels can be observed

Mind-Map of Lone AF, Thyroid, Gilbert's and Autism
I'm new to forums about the above. So, forgive me if I'm going over old ground. My medical history is really only remarkable for mild Gilbert's Syndrome (hyperbilirubinaemia) and mercury fillings (in common with much of the UK of my generation!). However, 13 years ago I was diagnosed with lone paroxysmal
