Raised Liver Markers - Octasa/ Mesalamine?
I started taking Octasa for Crohns in October 23. Just had blood tests (for another issue) and dr called to say that my liver enzyme markers were raised (ALT 255, AST 99, ALP 239, GT 334.. all substantially above the top end of normal) and they want to do an ultrasound to check my liver. The only difference

TSH at 5 weeks pregnant
Hey, I’m 5 weeks pregnant after IVF and my had my TSH checked on Monday, it was 2.14, I spoke to my GP yesterday who said I’m under 2.5 so it’s ok and they will check me again in a few weeks and to stay on same dose 125. I had another blood test yesterday and it’s come back at 2.41. I know technically

This is on my bio but thought I would copy you all in. I've never posted before but wanted to share this. I have never asked a question but have learnt so much on here that has helped me to support my husband through a very rough time in our 35 year marriage. A total change in life style and we are

Helpful group
Hello All, This group has been very helpful in providing information and suggestions on PC. I was diagnosed in Sept. 23 as Stage 4, Gleason 7 with all core samples testing positive and one met to the sacrum. Just completed 28 rounds of IMRT and have been on Lupron, Xtandi and Zometa for the last two

Didn't walk or exercise yesterday.
It's the first day I've missed since starting about a week ago.I had two appts during the day, a blood test at gps and an X-ray (hip) about 30 miles away. When I got home I'm was tired and fed up and skipped exercising, I did however park in the wrong car park at the hospital and had a long walk there

Bit of advice and support
Am in early diagnosis of maybe having fibromyalgia. I have a review next week with the physiotherapy and also the pain clinic. When it was first checked with blood tests my infection markers were slightly raised. Am in so much widespread pain, stiffness. Currently only taking paracetamol for the pain

Cholesterol 😩
Can someone clever please help with this Blood test of yesterday? It was slightly higher 3 months ago but my TSH was higher also so I didn’t worry too much. So now Levothyroxine has been increased and I’m over corrected at TSH of 0.25 and Free T4 of 30. Was hoping that my previous TSH of 5.4 was responsible

Why did my infusions get stopped?
I’ve had several Rituximab infusions, usually every 9 months to a year apart; the last one was in 2021. In 2022 I was informed that Rituximab would be replaced by Rituxithon ( I hope that’s right) as its cheaper. I haven’t got a problem with this. In March 2020, the week before lockdown, I went

Positive IFA, Negative Parietal Cell, B-12 injections affect IFA test
Hello, I recently tested positive for intrinsic factor blocking antibody but the result of my parietal cell antibody test was negative. I’m curious if other members have had this same experience? My doctors have suspected a PA diagnosis for several years. An IFA test about five years ago produced

Update on Endo and WLAMS
Re the Endo who was determined to take away my T3 whilst all I wanted was a blood test to include T3. After an exchange of letters, he phoned this morning. He had back pedalled so far he was out of site. He agreed T3 was vital, he agreed testing the full TSH, T4 and T3 were needed to make a positive

Has anyone heard of Parsonage Turner Syndrome? Out of interest.
Hello , I was diagnosed with PMR in September 2012 . I had returned from holiday , had my annual flu jab and noticed awful stiffness in my arms and hips whilst at Yoga . It increased to agonising electric shock pains , from shoulders downwards , my biceps would almost spasm and go hard , the pain

8dp5dt - first BFP after 13 years TTC!
Hi, I caved and tested early today 8dp5dt of a frozen blast. I did a first response and got a line but then did a digital to double check and it definitely looks like a BFP 🤞🏻 My OTD isn’t until Tuesday when I go for a blood test so 4 more days to wait. I can’t actually believe it but I’m trying

How long for ANA/ENA results?
I've had quite a few symptoms of what my GP suspects might be a CTD, spanning back about 10 years but lots more cropping up more recently. She's requested (I think) an ANA test and I understand from googling that if the ANA is positive it then gets sent for ENA testing as well? I'm not sure what the

New blood results - advice on whether to speak to GP?
Good afternoon everyone, I posted back in November (https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/150229278/blood-results-low-ft4-normal-tsh-warrants-gp-review) and received some really helpful advice, so I thought I’d post again for your opinions with some new blood results. Blood test taken at 08:50

Hypothyroid for 30 years
I've been Hypothyroid for 30 years, I take Levothyroxine 100μg during the night - to keep it separate from all the other meds I have for other conditions. I follow the advice that certain foods are 'not helpful' for a hyperthyroid condition (Brussel sprouts, Cauliflower - which I have very occasionally

LOW HCG - Any support and advice please!
We are 13dp5dt. Our HCG is 34.7. We had a HCG blood test at 11 days post transfer and it was 33.6. Is this a chemical? What should I expect now? Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
