Anxiety v Asthma
Hi I visited my GP who prescribed Prednisone a week ago as she thought I had a viral infection. My only Asthma symptom has always been a tight chest, but as this has been ongoing for a fortnight despite the Pred my anxiety has gone through the roof because this isn’t my norm with regards to Asthma!

Cholesterol
Hello all, Following a recent blood test, I've received a message from my GP saying my cholesterol is a bit high and advising lifestyle changes and offering statins. I'm currently researching statins trying to make an informed decision. I read that they are advised for CVD. I have a leaking Mitral valve

I have a question about K2 The reason for the post is that on a previous blood test over a year ago. it stated that my Haemoglobin estimation was abnormal ( over range). I put a note to the Dr for an understanding on this point but no reply, its just I have a little worry that if there is a blood

Results Advice Please
A brief bit of information first. Last year I was diagnosed with cancer, resulting in major surgery in June and a long recuperation. (I have been told 12 months is not unusual) I had just started to feel much more normal when I went to the GP for an unrelated matter. She asked how I was, I said I still

New GP is considering to give me B12 pills instead of injections - would that be the same in the long run?
Started having B12 injections two yeas ago and worked fine. Now moved to a new village and the new GP ordered blood tests to see if I should continue. Fought back and said that without the injections my B12 levels are going down. He asked me to take vitamin pills and have another blood test. If levels

High dose Prednisolone and effects
Hi, I was diagnosed with PMR, 8 years ago and was down to 2mg of prednisolone, however 3 weeks ago I ended up in A&E being told I’d developed GCA, after CT head scans and blood tests. Also had a temporal artery biopsy. I was prescribed 60mg of prednisolone, tapering gently so still on 50. My problem

My PMR journey is probably in reality nearer 3 years long. From actual diagnosis from the rheumatologist it is just over 2 years. I am currently taking 1MG of Pred a day. On Christmas Day I was admitted to hospital with a serious infection. This resulted from a UTI infection which the oral antibiotics

Back to square one
My Dr checked my thyroid levels with some other blood tests without me knowing, so I had taken my T4 (50mcg) about an hour before! Based on the results, she said I was now fine and took me off the medication. I tried to argue saying it needed to be before my meds and she said that was wrong. I had always

New results confused
Hi all, I was chatting on here a few days ago worried about blood results and my GP saying I had CKD and had had this for quite a while. I had no idea. Now, this is what I don’t get, two weeks ago I had my kidney bloods done and the results were worrying apparently? The blood test was repeated yesterday

Thyroid Ultrasound
Hi I posted last year regarding thyroid nodules and someone was asking about thyroid blood tests which I didn’t really have. Well…..things have progressed and I wondered if anyone in the community has any advice on my latest ultrasound results. I had it done privately as NHS was completely dismissive

Hypothyroidism and other health issues
Hi, Can someone please tell me if people suffering from hypothyroidism can get anxiety and high blood pressure? All my heart related blood tests are normal but I still don't know why my blood pressure is high all of a sudden? I have also started getting panic attacks and feel anxious 24/7 for no reason

Low ferritin
Opinions please on low ferritin. Had a blood test last week to rule out CA and my ferritin level is 11. Range is 10 - 150. I have several symptoms of iron deficiency and just wondering if it is actually too low. GP states that is still in range. Any thoughts please?

Monitor My Health iron test - lack of ranges
I spent a bit more money on my MMH test this year as I’ve never had an iron panel done but have always had low iron indicators on a full blood test. I didn’t get complete results as ferritin failed (posting the kit back took 48 hours when it was tracked to take 24) but the results I did get, I can’

Does it sound like PMR?
I have been to several specialists, but no one understands what is happening to me, their eyes always ends up swimming in their faces. After countless hours googling, I found this forum a could finally recognise things you have described here. I woke up with excruciating pain after a parathyroidectomy
