Blood pressure medication
Can anyone advise the best blood pressure medication that doesn't make breathlessness and dry cough worse. Also doesn't make your ankles swell.Really appreciate any recommendations as I am not sure the gp has the time to go into the different types. Have tried ramipri and amlodipine. Thank you

GCA Eyesight Anxiety
Hello, I am feeling quite anxious now, because my long-distance sight seems worse today. I am definitely seeing double (at a distance) and cannot focus (distance only.) Up close is clear. (I do have myopia, and have never had any problem with close work, unlike most people my age, which is 65.) I was

I have told that l will be on this medication for a long time as my lungs are very badly damaged. I cannot walk any length

Hoping that people can pass on what they use to help sleep with T. Realise there are likely to be a number of replies through various posts, but be good to hear what works for people on this thread if possible. ..on another note are steroids likely to spike tinnitus? Just finishing a 5 day course prescribed

Anyone have experience with Provenge? Especially on PSA tests?
For my history, I was diagnosted with Prostrate cancer in 2018. Now 70 years old. I had Surgery in late 2018 where they removed my prostrate and found cancer in 2 lymph nodes. I have had 2 salvage radiation sessions, which appeared to be successful. I have been on Lupron, essentially since surgery

You can't fool mother nature
I can not find the post which recommends this video. It was less than a week ago. It is 3 hours long so I recorded the audio and listened to it while working in my shop. I recommend it to anyone who has cancer or knows anyone who has cancer or really anyone. For me the most important take aways are intermittent

Anybody doing 'The Full Diet'?
Hi Everyone Just wondered if anyone is losing weight via "The Full Diet" ? Its a book /method written by Saira Hameed, an NHS Consultant. Its all about going back to basics on eating - cutting out highly processed foods, eating within an eating window and reducing carbs. Its an interesting read

Quick Question re. Taking Hydroxycarbamide.
Hi everyone, just to ask those of you with ET and taking HU, when taking two 500 mg capsules in a day, do you take them both together or at separate times in the day? Since my last post I have been back on my usual dose of 500 mg a day for 7 days, but after two weeks of taking this dose my platelets

Nutrition supplements
I was given some nutritional supplements by the dietitian-complan shakes and aymes shakes- to try on top of my usual meals and see if I tolerate them, with the aim of gaining some weight. I'm not lactose intolerant so I should be ok. But I'm just terrified they are going to give me horrible symptoms.

I had one thrombosis event (CRVO) in May 2022 and then was diagnosed with APS shortly thereafter. I have only been on aspirin, which was input from an ophthalmologist, a hematologist, and a vascular specialist. Now the hematologist wants me to go on Warfarin. I have concluded that this hematologist

Warfarin to Edoxaban
I have for the last few months been prescribed 60mg Edoxaban after 10 years of taking Warfarin after a DVT and PE. This due to my GP surgery merger with a bigger practice. Warfarin was my only option in 2013 before these new drugs became available. I'm told it's safer and no INR blood tests. I'd like

Methotrexate and hair thinning
Hi everyone. I’ve been on methotrexate for almost exactly 2 years and I can’t work out if my hair is currently thinning, it was fine before but these past few weeks it seems like more is coming out when I brush it. I don’t know if I’m imagining it or if it’s just going through it’s normal resting phase

cost of Gold Fiducial Markers
I had three markers put into my prostate to assist targeting the Xray for radiotherapy. Whereas my Medicare advantage plan Humana paid for the procedure, the office nurse said I need to pay $75 for the markers as it is not covered. Is this true??? I have found no evidence for this.

Waxing or hair removal when on Warfarin
Hi. I just had a mechanical valve replacement on the 16th of August 2023. I would like to get waxed. Is it possible to? I have never bled before warfarin. Are there other hair removal methods that are safer or can I stick to waxing?

Runny eyes
I have recently been diagnosed with suspected glaucoma and prescribed one eye drop a day. Before this I had experienced runny eyes and had been referred to an optician by my GP. She found that I had dry eye. Often now a short while after my eye drop the eye runs briefly. I am worried that the eye drop

Hi . this is Groda again. My Rheum wants me to start on Actemra for my GCA. He prescribed a Quantiferon TB Golf test (IGRA) before starting Actemra.
