Insomnia possible due to Tamsulosin
However, I am now having issues with my prostate, my PSA levels are mildly elevated at about 9 (I'm 52) and I'm waiting on a MRI and
biopsy
. In the meantime my GP prescribed Tamsulosin, my insomnia is now worse than it ever was. I was wondering if there is any link?

Never biopsied for IgA Nephropathy
But my kidney function was so far gone (GFR 15) that they didn't bother to
biopsy
it because it wasn't going to change the fact that I needed a kidney. I was fortunate to receive a living donor kidney, and have been fine ever since.

PSA rising (but relatively low). Is PSMA scan advised at this point? Or is it too early to be helpful?
(Btw, no Gleason or staging as he was diagnosed from
biopsy
of lymph node in his neck. Also found mets in bones.) Sorry this is so long. Thanks for listening. Advance appreciation for your insights.

Testing embryos? Any ideas
So I’ve had my results from the implantation clinic/uterine
biopsy
where results came back normal, which is good but also opens up ‘a can of worms’ as to what’s actually going wrong as we thought it was implantation.

Stage 4 Cirrhosis can be compensated?
My husband was diagnosed with Cirrhosis via liver
biopsy
. He is 65 years old. The liver specialist says the
biopsy
indicates Stage 4 cirrhosis. His fibrosis was also stage 4. But liver specialist also says his liver is compensated? How can this be?

rising psa but scans are clear
Now it has risen over the years to 10.8 but all scans, PET, CT, and
biopsy
of prostate are totally clear. My urologist want to put me on Elegard (hormone therapy) that will make my quality of life terrible which he admits.

He recently had a liquid

and the results state that he has “ATM mutation, VAF 68% which makes it unlikely to be CHIP” Does someone know what VAF or CHIP is?

Not sure if I have IgA Nephropathy. Will it damage my new kidney?

Hi allI am 1 year out of treatment for stage 3C1 cervical cancer. I had radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy. I have since had a colonoscopy, bowel biopsies, a SeHCAT scan and EPI test because of terrible bowel issues. I have seen a letter to my GP saying my SeHCAT and EPI test were clear but

Looking for support - glioblastoma
A 2nd opinion initially ruled it as inoperable after a
biopsy
. Then they did some tests to determine viability of an "awake" surgical resection. But that all fell apart at the end and she really doesn't want to endure radiation / chemo (treatment worse than the disease).

Update
The results of my husbands’s bone marrow
biopsy
shows that the prostate cancer is widespread in his bone marrow and are causing him to have low blood cell levels. He was told he could to chemo with a low level dose of Taxo or go to hospice. I am sharing so people have info on end of life choices.

Colestyramine
I have recently had a colonoscopy which resulted in all biopsies being clear. So have had a diagnosis of ibs d and possible Bile Acid Malabsorption. My consultant started me on 1x 4g sachet once a day for a week and increased to two sachets a day for a week. But I’m still having very loose, frequent stools

PREDNISONE TAPERING WITH ACTEMRA
A positive temporal
biopsy
was found this time. So I went up to 60 mg prednisone. Now I’m at 10 mg prednisone and am just starting Actemra. My question is how fast can I taper prednisone with Actemra? PS: I feel like the PMR never came back though. I had no PMR symptoms this time around.
