Scared newbie
I have had an mri, just waiting on pet which is next Friday,
biopsy
Monday praying for answers by the 19th. I'm obviously really struggling to sleep, 14 hours in 5 days, I can't switch off. I have an amazing amount of love and support and I am extremely lucky. But I'm absolutely devastated.

Docetaxel not working so stopped
My inclination is to take things into my own hands at this point - self-fund a liquid
biopsy
to see if there are any mutations that suggest treatments. If this is negative, I plan to self-pay for Pluvicto if I am eligible for it. Not cheap, but my options are running out.

early concerns/ paranoia
Then of course
biopsy
would follow. I know this is early days and I could be over-reacting. Any advice early on to look out for as this proceeds?

My GCA Update
My Rheumy just called to say that my temporal artery
biopsy
came back positive. She put me on 60 mg. prednisone and submitted a request for approval of Actrema from my insurance. I’m not happy that I have it, but it does feel like a relief to know what is causing me to feel so poorly.

Hello 💐 I m new here. My platelet count 1080 down from 1140 (3 month ago).
An ultrasound of my uterus revealed several fibroids, some cysts etc, I am awaiting a
biopsy
of my uterine lining. There was also a mass behind my cervix. Unfortunately I have already waited 3 month as the waiting lists in New Zealand are really long and potentially have to wait another 2 months.

GCA Update
I had a thought today that I wonder about: the
biopsy
itself causing a problem? (My eyesight issues didn’t happen until days after the
biopsy
.) I found slight information about post-op infection and foreign body (hair) entrapment. I couldn’t find any description of symptoms of those two things.

Fibroscan 14.2. No cirrhosis
Afro-Carribean descent - I've mostly watched the amount of saturated fat I consume but can't say the same for simple carbs -I drank mostly in my 20s at the weekend and rarely drink now -I'm 5.5" and about 9 stone I had a Fibroscan which showed heterogeneous attenuation of the liver (result of 14.2) then a

Possible Drug Induced Lupus and Thyroid meds ?
So I’ve been seeing a dermatologist recently for this current rash and he did a
biopsy
because nothing he threw at it has helped actually made it worse…
Biopsy
came back as POSSIBLE lupus and/or connective tissue disease but he wants a further study from the lab anyway he mentioned possible drug induced

Recently diagnosed and trying to work out what to do! All advice gratefully received.
Area of concern on MRIs consistent on both MRIs and is where the positive
biopsy
was taken. Prostate felt benign during digital exam. Clinical Stage 1, Histological grade group 2. Cancer contained within prostate.

GCA diagnostic dilemma
I am mulling whether to turn up at the hospital today (Sunday), just with his email, and ask for a
biopsy
, or wait till my Dr and/or Rheumatologist sends a note/appointment for here or elsewhere, or other answer.

Endoscopy years ago showed some duodenum flare up, took
biopsy
no issue or concern from this. Apart from this I’m on the waiting list a second time to see a specialist until then they want me to try this medication! 🤔

Nervous about a Bone Marrow Biopsy tomorrow
I have a bone marrow
biopsy
tomorrow and the nerves have just kicked in. I've heard that it's painful but is that the case for everyone or is it variable? How long does it take? I want to be brave!

Bone Marrow Fibrosis
I was diagnosed with ET in 2014 and after a recent bone marrow
biopsy
have been told I have Grade 2 fibrosis. Is this the same as Myleofibrosis?

Looking for advice for my newly diagnosed dad
He’s had a
biopsy
which showed Gleason 4 +5 and his PSA in hospital was 54.7. So far he’s had hormone tablets for 28 days and a 3 monthly hormone shot. The oncologist first appointment gave him the option of apalutamide or doxetal with daralutamide .

Short-term vs Long-Term ADT for High Risk Men
Here's a review of a recent presentation at ASCO 2023 by Artera.ai regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence analysis of
biopsy
slides to predict which high-risk men do or don't benefit from short-term ADT vs long-term ADT.

My husband is getting ready to have a bone marrow

My father never had a prostate
biopsy
and at this point doesn't want one as he says too much could go wrong with that. His primary care doctor put him on Tamsulosin HCL .4 MG about six months ago and doubled it about two months ago.
