why can't he stay on casodex forever and ever amen!?
here's our unusual situation: -husband had RALP & undetectable PSAs for 17 months before it started to rise again -then he had IMRT (70 Gy in 35 fractions at 2 Gy per day) &

BRCA2 mutation and PARP inhibitor in the castration sensitive
My tentative conclusion is that medicating with only a PARP inhibitor, possibly complemented with low-dose
Bicalutamide
, would be the wisest course in my case. If I am cautious I should wait till the study completion date in May, but then I have to take ADT for another month or two.

Bicalutamide failed... in spectacular fashion.
Also curious is that six weeks after stopping bical, my T level still remains at the high level (around 1200) that I experienced during the entire six months of
bicalutamide

Eligard(and
Bicalutamide

2nd PSA Post RP
I have an appointment with the Oncologist on Thursday and I've started
Bicalutamide
50m orally and will be having Lupron injection in 3 days and henceforth every 4 months. I'm waiting for a PET/CT scan, likely in the next month and I'm still feeling fine and working full time.

First Follow Up on MyTestosterone Trial
Intolerant/allergic to leuprolide so I did alternative ADT after BCR with
bicalutamide
50mg plus dutasteride for 5 years before it failed. In 2019 I had Ga-68-PSMA scan showing only two PLNs in pelvis on left side. No activity elsewhere. So I did hemipelvis IMRT, 64 Gy with boost to the 2 nodes.

Intensifying ADT?
Monthly Firmagon injection, + 75 mg
Bicalutamide
(a compromise after input from the Forum and to not fully diverge from doc) . T 9ng/dl = 0.3 nmol/l, PSA below 0.1.

Moving on to Provenge
With only
bicalutamide
for 6 weeks (before restarting Eligard) my PSA dropped from 24 to 0.06, and all Mets disappeared EXCEPT the one in L4...but it hadn’t caused any issues - until now.

Estrogen therapy rediscovered
An alternative to using patches is a
Bicalutamide
monotherapy with 150 mg which also does not reduce estrogens. You can also add low dose patches (0.1 mg twice a week) to a Lupron therapy to increase estrogens and mitigate side effects this way.

Started
Bicalutamide
immediately then added Lupron to ADT. Then took the advice I had given my Dad 27 years before, "Get to the biggest, best Cancer center as fast as you can." So I called Fred Hutchinson in Seattle and they're reply was 'We get you 10s in as soon as we can.'

Not responding to Xtandi
Diagnosed 2008, RP same year, followed by salvage radiation in 2012, then Chemo (docetaxel) in 2016, then Lupron (for life), then
bicalutamide
(Casodex). In April, last year, switched out Casodex to Xtandi as psa rates were rising. Current psa Jan/21 7.24 with a doubling rate of 7.1 months.

Bicalutamide
/ Lupron/Reclast, now going to Abiraterone/ Pred.... I am concerned about taking Pred for a long period.. I had a second option at UCLA Medical Center, and they suggested I do Apalutamide or Enzalutamide. I would like to hear from anyone who has had these other drugs and results...

Planned Chemo tomorrow need suggestion and information
Bicalutamide
helped to drop PSA to 10 in 6 months. in Sep 2019 PSA started increasing so the doctor asked to go for Abireteron acetate. we were on Abireteron acetate for 1 year(due to covid there was a gap of 15-20 days twice in 6 months, I was not able to send him medicine ).

Casodex/Bicalutamide or MDV3100/Enzalutamide can lead to promotion rather than suppression of Prostate Cancer Metastasis
Just came across this study that seems like quite an important finding for those of us who might be taking or have taken Casodex/
Bicalutamide
or enzalutamide.
