Time to come off Ropinerole 4 years after being on Pramepexole 7 years. What else can I try????
I've been on these and both caused augmentation and with both was increased to maximum dose yet still had restless legs causing sleepless nights, anxiety and depression. Before I went onto medication I found out I was severely anaemic, I don't know how it happened to me as I was previously fit and healthy

Low potassium levels
Hi, my Mum had a bypass on Tuesday and is doing well but her potassium levels are low and they're having to give her potassium chloride through a drip. I spoke with her nurse who didn't seem too concerned but does anyone know why this happens? Her levels were low pre-surgery too, is this related to heart

Ganfort - is it preservative free?
However, I note from the accompanying leaflet that they contain the preservative
benzalkonium
chloride
which is a preservative. Just wondering if anyone can explain how Ganfort can be preservative-free yet contain a preservative.

Preservative free eye drops
I do not feel I should have been put in this position as I am unable to judge if the preservative in Maxidex (
benzalkonium
chloride
) is less of an irritant than the preservatives in Azargha and the other drops to which I reacted badly. What do you think I should do?

Intermittent Fasting Could Put Type 2 Diabetes Patients into Remission
The prevention or management of type 2 diabetes by following a calorie-restricted diet is not a new idea. There are now dozens of doctors' Youtube presentations on how to reverse T2D by simply cutting the carbs. Now, research from China shows it could be possible for people with type 2 diabetes to

Dosing with Potassium Chloride
Hello, The potassium/sodium balance is identified as an important driver of high blood pressure. This is what I believe underlies recommendations to consume fresh fruit and veg to help high bp. The only issue is that with busy lives etc it is sometimes difficult to keep up with the 5/day recommendation

Questionable ingredients in spiriva respimat?
Has anyone heard whether the
benzalkonium
chloride
and disodium edetate in the respimat are safe long term? Ive read up on them and they seem like rather toxic additives for a lung inhaler. Ive seen some articles saying that the respimat isnt necessarily safe long term.

Low Sodium Salt
Thinking of my blood pressure I want to reduce the salt in my diet. I have some low sodium salt (Brand: Saxa So-Low) in which the reduced sodium is primarily taken up with potassium chloride instead. The packet says it contains 50% less sodium than table salt. It has 51% potassium chloride and 48% salt

Pretty quick failure of ADT + Zytiga... next?
Quick history: 2019 PSA of 20, a few probable spinal mets, bicalutamide monotherapy mid-2020 for six months failed early-2021 after PSA dropped to 3.8. Tried to initiate ADT via tE2 with estrogen patches in Spring 2021, but could not get T to castrate levels, stubbornly above 150 even at higher doses

Supplements, nootropics, vitamins, herbs: how do they interact? which are not compatible, which work synergistically and timing?

Landmark study shows simple salt swap could prevent millions of deaths each year
Replacing table salt with a reduced-sodium, added-potassium ‘salt substitute’ significantly reduces rates of stroke, heart attack and death, according to the results of one of the largest dietary intervention studies ever conducted. Presented at a ‘hotline session’ at the European Society of Cardiology

Potassium in the diet
I know that too much salt in the diet is not good for you, so for many many years I've been using (sparingly) so-called "50% sodium salt, which is a mixture of 50% sodium chloride and 50% potassium chloride. It's readily available in supermarkets as a means of reducing your sodium intake. I've now had

Alcohol-free hand sanitizer and other quaternary ammonium disinfectants quickly and effectively inactivate SARS-CoV-2.
For instance, one prominent review article reported that
benzalkonium
chloride
(a Quat) was probably “less effective” against SARS-CoV-2, which was cited by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) of the United States as a reason to avoid using
benzalkonium

OLD on blood results
OLD does indeed mean old. The blood sample needs to go to the lab the same day for some tests including Folate Potassium chloride and sodium. My bloods were taken in the afternoon so we’re sent to the lab the next day. A lesson that bloods should be taken early morning. I shall have them done again
