Preparing for my Urologist Appointment re Increased PSA -- Including possible biopsy questions
I am preparing questions for my upcoming urologist appointment to discuss increased PSA. Any guidance that you veterans of these battles care to give would be appreciated. My total PSA is now 5.2 with 18.5% free. Eight months ago my PSA was 4.4. (21 months before that, 3.9.) An mpMRI six months ago

Need help in understanding PSA level recurrence after treatment.
In May 2023 I completed what the doctor hope would be a curative treatment of 38 sessions of radiotherapy accompanied by 2.25 years on Lupron + Zytiga. During that treatment, my PSA fell to < 0.01 and remained there until the end of the treatment. I had a blood test taken last Friday and it shows that

Help! Prostate cancer spread to bladder.
Diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer in 2017, confined to bones and lymph nodes. After chemotherapy, have had a great run on drugs, but a bladder neck incision last June confirmed that it had spread to my bladder, about 1cm poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma on the left side. The urologist seemed

Switching to Lupron?
I've been on Firmagon for two years. PSA undetectable (<.064), all scans negative. Will switching to a six month Lupron shot cause testosterone flare?

My husband continues to be hormone sensitive but Sept. 4, 2023 he developed intense and unrelenting pain in his right mandible. Just completed a whole gland TULSA procedure
This was salvage treatment after failure of SBRT by MRIdian in Mar 2020.PSA nadir after SBRT was 2.4 and it rose to 5.3 just 3 years later, when a PSMA scan showed 2 possible tumours within the gland. A subsequent biopsy confirmed local tumour recurrence with Gleason 4+4. Interventional radiotherapy

Need help understanding Enzalutamide
I’m a wife of a PCa fella, 75 yrs old…married 53 yrs. I do all the research, then give info to him. He decides what he (we) will do with treatments. His history…diagnosed with biopsy in 2009…1 of 12 core samples with small amount of cancer. 3+3 with a PSA of 8. He decided to watch and wait. Reality

Lutetium 177 for "early" grade 4 pc or amino acid suppression ?
Dear All,It's a story of two brothers in the uk. Older brother was identified with 4+5 pc. His urologist recommended that any sibling be tested for pc. I did so and it was discovered that I had 3+4 pc. Older brother , via our national health care system, NHS, has systemic treatment ( chemo and hormone

Interesting PSA observation
For my prostate cancer journey, please see my bio. In 06/2023 I was also diagnosed with testicle lymphoma, maybe as a side effect of earlier radiation. Testicle has been removed, PET/CT & co showed no other evidence of cancer. So I perform four cycles of R-CHOP chemo regimen. Why I post this here? After

Blood Test Results.
Some of you will remember it took me a month to get blood test results because in the first instance the Doc who arranged them wanted to give me the results. Made about 3 appointments which were cancelled because he changed his working days or whatever so eventually decided that just to get the results

Firmagon vs. Lupron
PSA undetectable, all scans negative. On Firmagon every 28 days. The last two shots I've had bad reactions. Chills and no sleep the day of the shot and flu like symptons for a week or so. My question is this: Would it be risky to switch to a six month Lupron shot instead of monthly Firmagon shots? The

PSA 4.5, 9% free PSA, 65 yo
65 yo, in good health, active. I've had BPH and mild cessation incontinence ~2yrs. Semiannual PSA tests have been 2.2-3.8, very weak upward trend. MRI last April was neg. Latest reading was 4.5 ng/ml, free PSA 9%. First time urologist has mentioned free PSA. He recommends another MRI in April '24. Consensus
