folate dropping
I have been injecting since July 2023, thanks to you all, I knew to check my ferritin when I felt something else was off…since no doctor thought it necessary. It was 14. Now I am on iron supplements. My folate has always been >24. However, since starting the iron, my folate has dropped to 15 (still

Not at the patients demand!
I have to share this anecdote. It makes me laugh, cry and despair in equal measure. After 8 crappy years with thyroid symptoms getting worse I put myself on T3 in November. On day 5 I woke up and said the words "I feel better" before my conscious had even engaged my brain. 4/5 months later I can sit

When is 5.6 not 5.6
For as long as I can remember my FT3 has been 5.6 with a consistent dose of 2 grains of Thyroid S and a consistent range of (3.4 - 6.8). 18 months ago I moved to another part of the country where the FT3 range is (2.5 - 5.5). Technically my FT3 is now over range although no one seems to be too worried

Daughter, still really not great and cannot get through to medics
Short one as , well, I am buggered. Brain not working , so here to pick brains. As per not really getting anywhere with Gp. They have sent me a form to arrange repeat bloods, usually children are booked into walk in centre next door fairly quickly , but booking myself that isn't an option. So they

Intermittent fasting affecting thyroid values
For the last few months (around 4), I’ve been doing intermittent fasting, because I’ve read about the benefits of taking a break from eating. I eat for about 8 hours and fast for around 16 hours. My latest thyroid test results have shown a slight decrease in both FT4 and FT3. I’ve read somewhere that

Hillcross thyroxine
I have a note on the chemists file not to dispense Teva thyroxine. I recently got a prescription filled and I have started feeling extremely unwell with headaches, stomach upsets and feeling lightheaded. The only difference has been this change, when I have checked the box the underside of the pill

New Rheumatology Referral - hope it comes through quickly!
Hello folks, I’ve had fairly mild Reynaud’s for a long time and have more recently been diagnosed with fibromyalgia due to ongoing raised glands, pain & fatigue without infection/ inflammation. This was after seeing a rheumatologist who did a thorough examination, in-depth interview and blood/urine tests

T3 medication lowering FT4 - causing worsening of symptoms
When taking T3 medication (plus T4) it drops your FT4. Has anyone found that this drop in FT4 made them feel worse ie feeling more depressed and fatigue/energy even worse (or have you read about this happening to anyone)? Did you have to increase your T4 medication to get your FT4 up higher in the

Ferritin
Please can you remind me of lowest Ferritin levels acceptable for RLS sufferers. My last reading was 60, having gradually come down from 400 following an infusion. I had to fight for that infusion(level was then in the 20s.) I only managed to get it because the mother of a locum I saw was high up

pre diabetes
Had an NStemi and stent fitted in Oct last year. Obviously a shock and have been following all advice, did cardiac rehab and going on daily walks and gym twice a week. I asked GP surgery for cholesterol blood test to see if it had gone down further and particularly if bad cholesterol had gone down. However

endocrinologist
hello Does anyone know of a good endocrinologist in the UK who’s open to prescribing NDT please? Reasonably priced with a holistic understanding of health. I’ve always had the thought that I might feel better on something else than levothyroxine only. Took NDT years ago and felt much better, also

negative test but confusing clinic advice.
We had our 6th cycle this month. A FET with grade A embryo. I tested 11 days post transfer it was BFN. I continued to test 12 days and 13 days post transfer and it was BFN on a home urine test. I contacted the clinic to explain that we were negative and they said because I haven’t seen any period

Tumors Shrinking!
Brave Bold Cancer Thrivers, I am ER+, HER2 negative and I, finally after four months, have an oncologist I just love (she's so thorough with everything and very kind and caring), and my treatment is working! I am on Ibrance and letrozole and in only 2 months majority of the tumors have shrunk in half
