Addison's disease
I stopped taking Abiraterone three months ago to have a vacation. Was on it for six years. I tapered of the prednisone. I became very fatigued. Could hardly do anything in the morning and then limited things in the afternoon. then I thought of my low cortisol level (due to the abi) a couple years ago

Intrinsic Factor blood test
How long does it take for NHS to run this test? I had the test done last Tuesday, but the results are still not showing on my records.

subclinical hyperthyroid after hemithyroidectomy

Revised Plot of PSA vs Testosterone: Estrogen vs Lupron ADT
Ugh...I made a BIG mistake on the previous posting! I just realized that Dr. Morgentaler had listed the Testosterone level in unusual units (
ng/mL
), not the usual units of (
ng/dL)
. So, my X-axis was off by a factor of 10. Here is the revised plot. The exciting discovery is that the

IBS disproved
GP kept saying I had IBS and I kept disagreeing. A thyroid test came back borderline for low thyroid and one GP said we can try you on thyroxine and see if that works. Started on lowest dose and increased to next level. Toilet habits became normal and I have had no more bloating. I have no more symptoms

How to persuade TSH-obsessed Endo I'm not over-replaced (on T3-only)?
Hello, I am posting because I'm hoping for some advice for an Endo meeting on Tuesday. There is a possibility that the NHS Endocrinology team at my local hospital might just be contemplating 'widening' their approach to T3 (historically for me, a violent slam in the face 'NO! Get off T3 immediately or

Latest results and problems raising dose
TL;DR - should I continue to try increasing my NDT dose slightly (from 1.75 to 2 grains per day, split dosing) based on the test results below, though I am getting some symptoms after increase (mild anxiety, hot flushes and sweats, and palpitations)? Further info/details below the results Inflammation

Anti thyroglobulin Antibody High
I'd a mole removed from my right shoulder blade last November that was initially feared to be cancerous, but thankfully wasn't so. Since then I have an annoying pain in my right upper abdomen. Have had an endoscopy( am awaiting report but consultant didn't seem overly concerned) had a cystoscopy which

Swallowing issue
It's not a huge deal, but I seem to have some trouble swallowing lately (last month or so). Could that be related to my thyroid meds adjustment? I added T3 (15mcg) to my 75mcg Levo about 7 weeks ago. Or IS IT POSSIBLE to have a goitre inside the throat area that doesn't show on the neck? I do have Hashimotos

COMBINATION THERAPY IS NOW UNDER REVIEW
This review indicates how and why combination therapy may be used in treatment. Interesting in itself, but another example of cherry-picking evidence ( we aren't mentioned in spite of starting this concept in 2012. Good cliquish admission where the "nonprofessionals"are best kept well out of the limelight

Timing of blood test
Is it possible for advice on a blood test I have at 11.30 am tomorrow. I am unable to get an earlier one. Would it be okay for this one time as long as I don’t take the thyroxine tablet and no food beforehand? I am having quite bad palpitations and did not want to wait until next Thursday which is

back to the drawing board with aches & pains
My OH was put on a 10-day course for what the doc suspected was a viral infection or a bronchial reaction to Tamsulosin. Hubby felt absolutely brilliant while taking the Pred, but since he stopped them 2 days ago, his old age aches & pains have returned. Hey ho. But so far he’s not had the return of

Hi again I have been lucky to get an earlier blood test 9am as advised.During the last year I have had two private full panel tests, one Thyroid test on its own plus one GP bloods. This is not because I can afford it but not getting any where with my GP.They never listen to symptoms just numbers and ranges
