we question about normal Sinus rythm
HI just had my Cardioversion on thursday and after 4 attempts they managed to get me into normal Sinus rhythm. So my resting bpm is now at 52 to 55. But it has gone up to 75 whilst sitting. Does this mean I'm back in AF ? How do other tell if they revert do you have to wait wait for the ecg or use

Ectopics and flecainide
Evening everyone. I have posted here recently concerning flecainide and received some very helpful information. Since being recommended this drug for my ectopic beats (which I have tried to 'live with') by an EP, my consultant has since suggested I try it as a pill in the pocket. The recommended dosage

AV Nodal Re-Entrant Tachycardia
After seeing my EP today and giving him an EKG print-out of my tachycardia episode in the ER on October 2nd, I got some bad news. It seems my SVT wasn't caused by too much cortisone in my system prescribed by my GP, but that I have AV Nodal Re-Entrant Tachycardia. He said of the 1,000 or more ablations

Atrial flutter
I developed tachycardia and was diagnosed with atrial flutter in December last year. This was 5 days after my Covid 19 booster jab, and I had never been aware of any heart problems before. I presented myself at A and E with a heart rate of 150 without any other symptoms. After spending all night and

Pregnancy disrupts the accuracy of automated fT4 immunoassays
This paper includes: Indeed the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry working group for Standardization of Thyroid Function Tests acknowledged the need for standardization of the fT4 assay. Have to say, in my facetious moments, I have wonder what the IFCCSTFT group do when they are

Exercise induced AF - a few months on
Afternoon all, Thought I'd share my experiences of navigating my way through PAF so far. My history is in a previous post - 4 experiences of high HR / AF during big efforts over the last 12 months, but seemed to be getting more frequent. No issues reverting to NSR. Cardiologist driven testing - I've

Post ablation 2 weeks
Ablation 2 weeks ago at NNUH and by the app FibriCheck I have monitored AF since. Heart rate up to 119 just sitting still and pre ablation was 65-75. My GP took an ECG today and agreed I’m in AF but will refer me back to the hospital as my follow up appointment isn't booked until January. They said I

A letter has finally arrived! Trigeminy?!
Well, the ECG was on the 8/9 & the letter was dictated on the 30/9. It was then typed on the 5/10 & has arrived today. Ventricular bigeminy but the letter says trigeminy too?! Which appears to be an electrical issue with my heart? One consultant is more concerned with the electrical side of cardiology

Slow growing embryo miscarriage
I was wondering if anyone has had a miscarriage with a slow growing embryo? Initially my HCGs were strong and going well. Had a bit of dark brown discharge so went to the EPU at 5 weeks. Sac visible but that was all. At 6 weeks I was told I had a blighted ovum then 2 days later a fetal pole was visible

chickenpox
my grandson has been vaccinated for chickenpox, which I believe is a live vaccine. I have primary intermediate MF, sarcoidosis and heart disease. I have had chickenpox as a child. Am I at risk for shingles if I see him? I am 67 and not had the shingles vaccine. (Uk). Also, anyone treated at Adenbrooks

Awaiting diagnosis of Heart Failure
My husband had a Mitral and Tricuspid Valve repair in June 2020, however his AF could not be treated as it had been happening for too long (they discovered the valve problems because AF was found on an ECG some 18 months prior to the operation). He has been struggling with his breathing for some months

Anybody on O2 24/7
I don’t think my asthma was properly diagnosed for years. I think I have an atypical type. I was exposed to noxious fumes in 2010, for only a few minutes. I was removing belongings from my late mom’s home after her bedroom floor was sealed against animal odors. The smell was so strong, it was February
